not really over budget yet just over on my time table i had.. i bougth the donor truck and have pretty much made my money back on it by the time i get rid of what i got left of it . so really it was just more labor than money. plus when i got it orgainally i could have drove the shit out of it it ran and drove fine , just after selling the one i did i wasnt ever gunna be satified with just a tow pig cruiser. so i probably took it alittle further than more people would have.

ok well started getting ready to cut the 79 stuff off and ready to graft it onto the truck and discovered it WONT work.. the 88 front end has a gradual slope and the 79 doesnt.. none of us really noticed that difference untill we put the core support on and relized how much higher the 79 core support is compared to the 88.

So im gunna stop all the maddness of trying to do this and just run the 88 front end.. im getting tired of not makin any real progress on the truck.. so now i gotta go get some new parts that i wasted

yea sucks... luckly i have another hood already .. i just gotta go pick up two new fenders. its only gunna cost me about 170 bucks to replace both of them. there is a place down the street from my shop called Outback truck parts and they are like LMC but in my back yard.

and yea reyna thats my daily in the back ground.

Yeah I heard Outback was doing squarebodies now, not just 67-72, and they've been doing 60-66 for quite a while now right? I was there a couple years ago and they had a pretty solid 67-72 panel, 3/4 ton I think because it was the extended body you couldn't get in a 1/2 ton, thing ran and IIRC was kinda cheap for what it was. Shoulda bought it.

Way back in the day (well, OK, mid to late 80's) I dealt 60-66 used parts and there was nobody local (unless you counted that scamming Franks Oldies but Goodies), if you wanted new parts LMC was out there but a fender was $400, and it was chinese crap...still is, unfortunately. Hard as hell to find 60-66 fenders without rot in the bottom.

There's a few squares on craigslist being parted out, maybe get you some OEM fenders? One dude in Cleveland is parting an '88 burb, few others I noticed.

And guy.. yea man outback has so much stuff out there.. they have two square body dually beds out there now .. One in PERFECT shape.. looks like it came off the gm assembly line yesterday.. and another one out there that is pretty good shape too if anyone is looking for one. the VERY GOOD BED he is ask 2000k for it and the other one i think he told me he would take 650 for it.

im gunna call a buddy today that is parting out a burban and see if he still has his front clip.
