Re-worked my baby

To start off I haven't been on the forums in a really long time I just got the internet hooked up where I moved and I feel all high tech again I decided to start reworking my 4-link and make a hoop for the axle. I originally had the upper link bars welded to the diff. but because its off center I had some issues getting them square and lined up. So I made a 1/2 moon shape hoop to go from side of the axle to the other and keep the link bars centered, then I completely boxed in the frame up front for upper mounts and added 2 more crossmembers, one behind the axle and one directly in front of the upper front bar mounts. I also wanted to mount my air tank and compressors under the bed in the rear and hide all the valves. Then I found a flush mount toolbox that my 42 gallon fuel tank fit in and viola' the dually is looking acceptable once again!!

Now I am thinking about making some more tubing and creating a 4 bag setup in the rear with 2 bags directly over the diff. and the gooseneck trailer ball mounted right above them. I think it would look really aggressive and mean to have 4 bags back there and wouldn't hurt for towing my shop projects to shows.

Looks good, only thing I might suggest is moving your compressors. I have only mounted one comp on its side and it burned up in a few months. Anything gets in the cylinder and it'll sit between the piston and cylinder wall and tear it up. I know lots of people run them this way with no problem, but just those are my two pennies.

looks good man. heres how i set mine up, just for some input. its built to tow. the bags are goodyear 2b12-406 semi bags.





everything is 2x2x1/4 or 1/4 plate.

no problem man. i dont have a picture of my bars. im running a 2 link with a cross bar and some extra brackets that mount to the axel for extra support when im pulling a big gooseneck. my bars are 2x2x1/4 thick. i used 3 inch 4 link bushigs from sd then wrapped the whole bushing with 3/16th's plate.

these are the only pictures that show the 2 link. this one is upside down while the undercoat was drying.

the reason i went with the 2 link is so i would have NO side to side movement. my wheels are stuft in my fendrs and ididnt want it to fleg and crack my fender.
