i get more and more excited everyday i go out and do some work on it..... don't get my wrong. i love my truck... but it has been a pain in the ass the whole time.....

it will be worth it in the end.

i took 2 used steering shafts and cut the d shafts out of them.

this is what the steering shaft will look like ( everything is just setting there not welded). the heim joint mounting plate will be trimmed down and moved to get the heim joint lower ..

i am going to mount the front clip on it and get the cab lined up to make sure everything fits right. then i can weld up the steering shafts to each other and weld the heim plate to the frame..

whatayaknow,
get your butt outside and do some work on those trucks .. if i can do it, you can too..

whats up xtowtruck!

yep, those poly cab mount bushings are made by prothane .part number 7-135

i wish i could sparky but i live in a flat in a city and can't dump the trucks out on the parkingplace and start grinding and welding on the bare chassis without risking them being towed off , i first need to find a WORKspace to keep them in , right now i only have space for storage and im not alowed to work on them there
sparkys-crewcab   +1y

ouch....living in a city without space to work on your own vehicles sucks.. if i was paying for storage. i would tear the trucks apart and play dumb...(i didn't know i couldn't work on my own vehicles ????? )...play it off...

i am lucky my neighbors are cool i guess. codes haven't been called on me in a couple years. even if they were, it wouldn't stop me from tearing my truck apart in the driveway.. i would just throw the antique tag in the front window and wave at the codes guy as he drives by because he cant do anything ..
