couldnt you just made a spacer out of plywood and use long bolts to keep them between the mount and the bag and ad a piece of treaded pipe to bring the mountingpoint for the air to the bag to above the metal bracket?

Ok, Sparky or anybody please help me understand something. I am in the process of SFBD and bagging my 88 R30 crewcab. I saw a couple of pages back Sparky where you were talking about location of the bag brackets and having to raise them if you switch to 22's. I know you don't want to stretch your fenders which I know I will have to do when I finally switch over to 22's. I also have 225/75-16 tires which are 29.28 inches tall. The 22 inch tires that TWAT sells with their wheels are 265/35-22 and they are 29.30 inches tall. Since they are virtually same height regardless of rim diameter the axle centerline from the ground will remain the same I shouldn't run into the problem of having to redo all of my work again should I?

Sorry for the long post just need some insight before I modify my control arms and mount my rear upper mounts. Before anybody says it I am getting my pics together so I can start a build thread, LMAO

Thanks for any help or insight in advance. Chris

no problem...

as long as you set your rear top bag mounts up with the 225-75-16's on your truck, you wont have to redo anything. just put your semi wheels on and roll out.. (oh, and stretch you rear fenders)

the only reason i will have to raise my rear bag brackets is if i want to switch from running a 16" 60 series tires to some semi wheels.

here is a pic of another build on here.(nub drully).. this is the difference between a 16 inch 60 series tire, and semi wheels with low pros.
the semis are alot taller than the inside 16" tires..

see how the bags are already flattened out running the 22"s ? he set his rear upper bag bracket to lay on 22's.
if for some reason he wanted to switch back to running the 60 series 16's and not change the bag brackets. it would cause him to lose a couple inches of lift.

That's what I was thinking but always safe to double check and make sure. This is my first build as well just like you. Thanks for all the help and insight. I will be starting a build thread pretty soon.

This thread as been AMAZING. Keep up the good work. I've always wanted to build a dually. Built plenty of other bagged truck just never a dually. Your build thread was just the motivation I've been needing to go and pick up an 87 CC dually and start chopping. Thanks for the amazing thread and please keep it up.

:update..:
i set the bed back on.. and it looks killer. i have to take it back off to trim some metal out of the rear fender wells.

i need one slam specialties re7 for the rear . for some reason i bought 2 dominator 2500 pound airbags instead of the 2600 pounders...

anybody got a extra re7 laying around?
