thanks for the link..

i really wanted another tailgate on ebay that has the GMC stamped into the actual metal. but he wants alot for it. i still may try to buy it. he wants just about what that gmc band would cost me...150.00 plus shipping...lol

ok, i got some work done yesterday and today...

the entire floorboard was wired wheeled and i sprayed a coat of self etching primer down on all the bare metal spots ..
i bought 99sqft of sound deadner on ebay for 100 bux. it was cheap, and you should know by now. im cheap...hahaha

it really did make it sound more solid .. i still need to do the roof and the back wall..

i decided not to mount the radiator fan control box inside the cab . the ground wires would have been way to long ( this controler regulates the ground for the electric fans instead of the positive) i came up with a great idea.. and a cheap one to!
take it easy on me...lol...i came up with this

its a heavy duty rubbermaid microwaveable container !..i bolted it to the firewall. then used self tapers on the control box. it aint going nowhere.. drilled holes for all the wires to pass through. it looks kinda crazy. but i keeps the box from getting wet..and that is all that matters

oh yea, all of my wire connections are soldered and shrink wrapped.. i hate crimp connectors..but i love zip ties...

gotta love the swirly designs...

I finally stuck my head outa my own little busy world I live in and got around to checking out everyone else's builds. I gotta say the truck is looking good man!! Your almost there.
Did you buy that sound deadening from an eBay store?? Do they have any other auctions for it?? I'd love to get my hands on some cheap sound deadening.

i think you have to be careful with that stuff aspecially if youre living in a place that gets hot in the summer
often sound deadening is made from bitumen like roofingfelt and the stuff can stink up youre car and even start dripping or falling down if it gets too hot , at least use the pricier stuff on the inside of youre roof

only the really cheap stuff, the no name stuff usually called brown bread has issues with heat, it just doesn't stick worth a shit when it gets hotter on the mating surface then the deadener is. I've never had any drip or melt..... i'm also in Canada though

hows the truck going sparky??

it seems like I am never going to finish this thing bagged. but I keep plugging away at it a little at a time....

I mounted the front seats and got the rear tubs welded in. I still need to grind the welds and do some body work on the top bed rails. then finish filling the hole in the bed floor. I was thinking about putting 2 whiskey barrels side by side inbetween the wheel tubs..??? the barrels cost around 325.00 for 2 of them from jack daniels....

the inner and outer bedsides still need to be re-attached to each other with what is left of the fiberglass connectors. I will get pics later after I get the bed off again to trim metal and finish welding the tubs from the inside.

this is the truck all the way down in the front. and the rear is almost laid out.

if I lay the rear out, the driveshaft hit the underside of the bed and kicks it up ....

seats are in! carpet is next

trimming needs to be done to the sides of the tubs. I am debating on welding/sealing the the bed floor completely up. or make the c-notch cover removeable so I can get to the airbags if they ever decide to fail. or if I ever get a flat tire, I can get under the frame to jack it up.

I scored a good front windshield at the pull and save a few weeks ago... I bought brand new front and rear window rubber and chrome lock strips.
