funny story bagged....lol
my truck has a full 3" exhaust with cats/mufflers. it's kinda loud...
i got everything cleaned up. the little mexican dude was happy to get free scrap metal...i put the fairlane in the garage. it still sticks out a foot past the door.
the dually has antique tags on it now...
i cant get into the wash room for all the stuff i had to move out of the garage to get the 59 in there.. lol
your right 75dually. the codes guy wont stop unless there is a problem . he drove right on past my house on december 1st.
the good thing i got out of this is a clean yard..lol but somebody definitely dont like me. this is the second time codes has showed up.
anyways.. here a few pics...
the rear is as high as its going to get without changing the airbags out for re8's. which i will eventually do.. (i got re7's all around) the front end is almost layed out. still has a couple inches to go down......
i bought this tailgate on ebay for 45.00.. shipping cost me 50.00.... the one i had goes to an 80's model truck with different trim..
the old tail lights were faded bad so i replaced them.. i need to buy some top and bottom trim. somebody put a screw throught the bottom trim...lmao
ok, this is not how the bed is going to look... im going to buy some steel tubs and make them meet up with the piece of bedfloor i cut out. then buy some replacement bed floor panels and fill in the rest of the bedfloor. it should look like a stock bedfloor that has a big raised up section with smooth steel wheeltubs.
this contraption is my air managment.. it is cheap and simple.
ive bolted down the airtank and a battery box. i placed one 150psi harbor freight compressor inside the batt box.. i will add a cooling fan later.. its basically complete . all i need to do is run the hot and ground wires and im done.
that little compressor will pump that 5 gallon tank up to 135psi easily ( it will take 5-6 minutes from empty to 135psi. but starting from 100psi to 135psi is alot faster) .
you need to use a manual type air pressure controler box that most big air compressors use.( the black box hanging off the side of the airtank) they have a air unloader valve to release the pressure from the compressors leader hose. you know that sound that most air compressors make when the go to cut off and you hear a pphhhsssshhh sound? that is the air being bled off from the compressor so it doesn't have to fight against any air pressure to come back on. these little compressors will not come on if you already have alot of pressure built up in the tank. so a unloader valve is a must..
another lesson learned... do not buy those cheap derale thermosts for electric cooling fans.. they dont work!. the temp sensor on mine was defective. it never cut the fans on when it got up to 180 degrees. i had to manualy turn the fans on throught the air conditioner over ride to cool the engine.
so i spent 200.00 on a auto cool II 125 amp dual fan temp controler. it is made in the usa!.
the only problem i have is that i cant mount it under the hood because i dont have fender wells to keep it dry. so im going to mount it on the inside of the cab. on the firewall . i should do that real soon...lol
the 20 gallon fuel cell that i need to mount. i havent yet because the driveshaft is hitting the bottom of the bed (right under the fuel cell) right before it lays out . im not to sure yet how much i am going to need to cut out to get it to lay out. the fuel cell may end up being put where the airtank is at.
my nice brand new rear bumper and brackets...i got for 150.00 shipped on ebay...
im thinking about having the exhaust exit through where the tag is supposed to be.. of course i would need to make a new rear crossmember with cutouts for the exhaust tubes.. more fabwork.
the inside still needs attention. the floor looks good to me. the hump isn't that tall. and if i build a console that conforms to the sides of the trans hump. you wont even be able to tell i did anything to the floor..
ok. love it? hate it? you guys remember nub drully on here ??
ive always wanted one of these fiberglass visors. and i finally got one! cost me 100 bux...
i kinda like it. it goes with the time and era of the truck. and makes the roof line alot lower. i bet it would look better if i painted it black and mounted it.
damn. i got $250.00 setting right here.. rebuilding these trucks are expensive. lmao
