A "new" 73 Dually

Honestly, I don't know much about what's going on under the hood. I've had it here for a couple of days now. It's my buddies, hell, I haven't even drove it!

That truck is super clean. I'm not trying to start anything, but, are you sure it's not an 83. by the looks of the cowl, grill, it looks more like an 83. wouldn't a 73 have a bigger hood that goes all the way up to the windshield. just alking. very awesome truck, whatever year it is

i see what you saying, i was looking, im not sure either. but, it could still be a 73 with a front end swap

Like I said, it's not mine. I'm actually not much of an older Chevy guy, so I don't know much about the different body styles. I did just check the registration that's in the glove box and it does say 73.

Thats cool then. the 70's trucks had the bigger hoods and crappy hood spprings, and they were prone to buckling in the middle. so its nice the work has been done. thats nots the easiest swap to do.

Okay, so I've been able to get a little work done on the truck. Parts have been trickling in and the 4 link SHOULD be in by the end of this week, but you know how that goes. In the meantime, here's what's been goin' on...

Here's some shots of a step notch someone threw in. Pretty crappy. Basically it was just a piece of angle iron welded (kinda) onto another piece of steel which was welded to the frame. This was a bitch to get off but a necessity.









Guess they used to have some helper springs on at one point.


I was able to get the notches in till I ran out of wire mid-weld. Always fun that way.







So that's where I'm at now. Waitin' on the 4 link and gotta get some more steel in the next couple of days. Also waitin' on a new tube bender from JD2. Psyched about that. Enjoy.
