A "new" 73 Dually

Thanks, and I've been wondering the same. I can KINDA understand the angle iron as a step notch, ghetto, but it can serve a purpose if it was welded in worth a shit. However, not sure what the other piece of angle iron to the frame was for. That piece was welded solid and allowed me to burn through several cutting wheels. Both shocks were gone except for the shock hoop part with the bushings attached. It's as though someone just ripped the shocks right off the mounts. And I have no idea what the hell is going on towards the end of the frame. Something was mounted then torched off, but whatever, that ain't me.

no matter what, gonna be awesome once all cleaned up and done.

good lord them was some welds on there! just cause some one owns a welder dont mean he should use it. it looks like that u bolt is bent up as well, i wounder what was goin on under that back of this truck?

So it's been a while, but I have been getting some work done. Figured a large update is just as good as several small ones...so here goes:

I finally got all the link bars and many accessories, so I was able to get started on the 4 link.













Then I was able to start a new crossmember for the upper bars. Just noticed the 3 levels...haha..can't measure enough!





Here's the pinion angle lowered..



And lifted..





Some gussets inside of the rear tabs...not a lot of room on the outside..

Bag plates with extenders to fit ss8's..











Nice and warm..

Thanks...nothing new just yet. I'm coming up with some ideas on some bar work for support. Workin' the day job tends to slow things down, ya know?

So I'm startin' to get somewhere with this thing. Tomorrow I'm getting some more tube and gonna finish all the welding on the back. Hoping to have the tanks mounted by the end of the day too.
