Ive been following your build. Excellent work looks great too. what did you use for frame material? did you have to relocate the body mounts at all?

i used 2x4 1/4 wall.. i didnt have to mess with any of the mounts. i cut the bottom of the railes off and boxed it and z'd the front. way easier then tryin to mess with all those mounts. this way i didnt have to cut the bed tub to match the body. all factory mounts and lays pinch.. if u look closely in some of the pics u can see how i did it..

got the jams all taped up and prepped to paint. will be paintin them and the insides of the doors today. should post up pics tonight or tomorrow..

thanks layn I had it in my mind that I would cut the bottom off as well. I was hoping the body mounts wouldnt have to be moved by doing it this way. originally I planed on just laying frame but the trucks frame is so rusted up and pitted that I need to remove the cab and bed to refinish it so i figured why not do a stock floor seeing i really wanted this from the start.

ya man doin it that way is easest in my opinion.. i think it took me a few nights to do it all.. besides the plates needed. i had a little extra work tho because of the accident. the whole front clipped was mangled.. but anyways got the jams painted today and they came out awesome. very happy the way they came out considering we did it in my garage.. plan on hangin the doors tomorrow night. very excited to see it look like a whole truck ago. oh and the black we used is chrslers brilliant black crystal pearl.. it looks sick in the light..
cool pic of my buddy joe layin the clear down..

why take the doors off to spray the jambs? its sooooo much easier and less scratches with them on
layingnutz   +1y
because the were already off and i wanted to make sure i got every nook.. didnt wanna be able to see any red when the doors were open.

cant say i blame you laying for going on an spraying the jams now. looks excellent. just be careful hanging the doors and you shouldnt have to worry about scratches. in any case i think it can all be fixed no matter. keep up the good work.
