Getting this chassis built was what I needed for sure. It has gotten me motivated again. I just got home from my body shop. I had one of my buddies and employees want to come in and help get started on the cab again. So we blew all of the dust off of it, spent a good amount of time moving all the random body panels and parts off and away from it and started on the sheet metal work again. He tore into the firewall again and got it almost ready to be painted and I finished 99% of the welding that was left. We also got the floor seem sealed and done and got it sprayed with an undercoating to further block out noise and to be sure it was sealed.
We're really hoping to get the firewall painted in the next couple days and to get the underside of the floor sprayed with bedliner. That way as soon as the chassis is back at the shop we can roll it right in and set the cab on it for the last time. After the cab goes back on we just have to clean and paint the engine and trans and it'll be going in to stay. It's getting closer by the day now to being done. Tomorrow I'll snap some pix of the cab progress.
I decided to sponsor the "Queen City Riot" show in Springfield, Mo this year. So we have to have the truck ready to at least be trailered to the show to help promote my body shop and all the work Kyle has done at Guilty by Design. Anyone close enough should make the drive. It's the last weekend in May I believe but don't quote me on that. Plenty of info about it on the No Law the video website.

I also forgot to mention that I got my gages designed today. I just have to place the order tomorrow. I'm only going to using 2 gauges. They'll both be 5" diameter. The first one will be a speedometer with a digital odometer that serves as a lot of other things also such as 1/4 mile time and mileage and under the speedo needle there's a mini tach. The other gage will look the same but has 4 smaller needles in it that'll be the fuel level, engine temp, oil pressure, and voltage. The gages are costing quite a bit but it's bad ass that you can design every aspect of your gages and have them built. Also my Chevy had the speedo in the transmission and the Dodge in the axle so I had no provisions for a speedo and the new gage runs on a gps signal. If anyone wants to check them out or get a set go to speed hut on line. Another reason I spent the extra on them is there only a couple inches deep.

Got the firewall done done this morning. Just have to wet block it before we paint. I went in and laid down some black sealer and my favorite tan high build 2k primer. I started to wonder if we'd ever get the firewall done. It was taking forever. I think we caught the inside of the cab on fire 3 times welding all of that in lol. Anyone have a new gas pedal mount lol.

I talked to Kyle tonight and it's looking like I'll have the chassis back by thursday at the latest. We're all stoked to get the new chassis painted and start final assembly.

Your telling me!! I think it's been about 2 years now on and off on this project. My life has gotten in the way at times but this should be the last push before it's done. It's been a long road but it's really close now. Plus I've got some help at my shop and that's a big help in giving me free time to work on the truck. I'll post some more pictures as soon as I make more progress.

These trucks may take some of us forever but their always there when we want to go back and pick up where we left off. I'm sure a lot of you are like myself and don't ways have several thousand dollars laying around to throw into truck parts. Us poor boys got poor ways lol. Regardless we seem to always get back to the trucks and get them done....even if it does take some of us 4 or 5 years. I'd say it'll be a 3 year build by the time this thing is done.

I feel you there. I gather all the necessary parts for my builds and then rip everything down... only to find I don't have all the necessary parts and then I have to wait longer. lol... always something missing when you take on a project such as this. Patience is a virtue... a virtue I don't have, I have to force myself to be patient with car stuff, cutting corners in builds is a no no
