I would go with megamat at least for the roof, which is still fat mat, just their next level. It's thicker, but more importantly, the adhesion is so much better. I have seen the regular fat mat fall from the roof several times. You can get 100 sf for 240$. Did you get my pm?

I did get your pm. I've got your info saved in my phone. As soon as I get the cab back on and some sound deadening done I'll give you a call about it.

Man, that frame looks awesome dude. I've been gone for a while. But I had to find your thread for some updates. It's like 20 days since your last post. Any new developments?

I appreciate the following man. Glad some of you guys enjoy reading it.
I've been taking pix as we go but basically it's just been boring stuff trying to get it all ready for assembly. A lot of grinding, welding, and getting the chassis ready for paint. I took the front end all back apart and got it all trimmed and ground smooth and added shock tabs to the front. As it sits right now the rear half of the chassis has been sealed and primed and the front should be in primer by early Monday morning. After that it's just sand it 1 more time and paint it. My girl and I went and got the paint for everything last week so it's just a matter of finish sanding everything and shooting it now.
Hoping to have the chassis painted and be setting the cab on it in the next few days. Since I'm not running a bed floor we've put a lot of extra time into making sure everything is as smooth as possible.
Pretty soon I'll post all the pix I've been taking of the progress.

We have kind of gotten slowed down again due to customer vehicles taking all of my time but I've still been pecking at it every chance I get. I got the firewall to a spot where I was finally happy with it. I opted to use a white sealer to make my base a little brighter. The chassis is about 99% ready for paint but without a rotisserie it's going to be very difficult to get all the underside and tube work painted. So we're still scratching our head on that one. Regardless we're still hoping to have it together enough to trailer to show fest in Mississippi the third weekend in May but if that doesn't happen it has to be at Queen City Riot the last weekend in May. The truck won't be painted by than I don't think but at least the firewall and chassis will be painted and the drive train will be in it and it'll be almost a complete truck again.
Anyway I figured I'd drop in with a few pictures of the firewall in sealer and once the paint got done. We still have to cut and buff the clear but I'm going to wait until very last for that so if we scuff it during assembly I'll be able to buff it out. I also snapped a close up picture so everyone can get a better idea of what color the truck will be.

Firewall painted. Just need cut and buffed to rid any orange peal.

And finally a close up of the color. I love this color. It took us a long time to decide on this color but with the silver chassis I think it'll be a nice combo

looks good man.....you gonna undercoat the bottom of cab?

Ya the underside of the cab I'm planning on using undercoating or spray on bedliner and the same thing on the floor pan.
I'm absolutely dreading spraying my frame. All that tube work looks killer but it sucks to paint.

Thanks bearded!!

I got some free time today at the shop and got the underside of the cab done. It looks a lot more complete with the undercoating sprayed. As soon as I can get the chassis sprayed the cabs ready to go back on now. The only thing left to do is measure and cut a hole for the new NV4500 shifter since when I did the floor I originally built it for the 47RH Auto.

Also I almost forgot I had this until I found it laying in the shop a couple days ago. It's actually about a $500+ piece to anyone restoring a vintage benz. It's the factory dealer add on AC unit out of a 1965 Mercedes. I originally bought it for the dually but I'm not going to use it I've deicded. I've got it on my local CL but if anyone of you guys want it I'd cut you guys a hell of a deal on it. Just drop me a message if you may want it. I'll let you guys get it for $100.
