i was thinkin the same thing, i shaved all my stuff. idk if youve seen my build thread or not.

i found a dash for $150 yesterday, but i had to replace ball joints on my duramax so there went that money.

damn man that sucks but 150 thats really cheep im going to rip the bbc out of the truck tomorrow after i get some from work and start getting it rdy for the ls1 started are new hrs this week have to get up at 4:30am to 4:30pm 6 days a week for the hole year

holy cow those hours blow but youll have alot of over time! lol. i remember the fuel pump part number from O'riellys and Napa that i used on my LS swap. its a frame mount pump. one is a Napa number "P5000", the other is O'rielly number "E8228".

there bout $130-$145 i think mine made like 57lbs. of fuel pressure.

i think the LS requires about 55lbs. of fuel pressure for a "run of the mill" LS engine.

also if you wana keep your factory shifter linkage, idk bout all of them but, i used a 4L60E trans and the shifter arms will interchange. you should be able to use your original shifter arm on the 4L80E i think.

and mine had a little blank spicket that bolted to the block (right next to the oil filter) and you can drill and tap that spicket for a manual oil pressure gauge if you want. and the transmission mounts interchanged on mine as well.

If your going to build your own harness like i did, there is a shit load of info on "

im not tryin to say im a know it all or trying to tell you how to build it!! lol just thought i might throw in a few tricks i found when i was doing mine. ill share any info i have with anybody.

again just another thing noone bothered to tell me when i did mine is, the coolant circulates backwards of an old school engine.

or i just did something wrong, but my upper radiator hose will suck plum flat if it gets low on water.

well tonight was a good night put the 454 up on Craigslist for $900 and ill be damned if it wasn't even 5 mins it was sold told the guy i didn't even have it out yet told me it was okay he would wait for me to pull it and that he did took me a hr to get it out and on to his truck now just waiting for the new motor to get here was shipped yesterday

Yup, the LS for sure, (and I'm 90% sure the LT motors as well) have a reverse coolant flow from the 283/305/327/350/400 small blocks. Cools the heads first to make better power.
