likin the progress man! im diggin the LS swap too. i did a 5.3/4L60E swap in my 70' short bed C/10 a few years back.

I wouldnt go any other way now, im done with carburators for good! lol.

an LS swap isnt much higher than rebuilding a tradition motor by the time you vat the block and rework the heads an all that. i started to 6.0 swap mine too, but i got a unbelievable deal on a whole cummins dodge truck.

yeah i really wanted to do a cummins in my truck but i cant find a trauck with one in it or even a motor that ppl dont want a arm and a leg for so i seen with deal and couldnt pass it up for 2500 with the tranny with 80k on it and all and thats shipped to my door

i know the feeling lol. i searched for a year and a half before a finally found one a decent price. it was a turn key driving truck for $1,150. in all honesty i prolly shoulda just fixed up the dodge and drove it lol. its got no telling how many miles on it.

the LS swap i did was out of a rolled 2000 suburban, it would start and move but the roof was level with the dash lol. i got the suburban for $900 but it had 160,000. the motor and tranny are rock solid though.

fuck y cant i find them deals haha but this is going to solve a lot of my problems with the big block i was going to use i think i mite even trubo it if i have the room for it will see when it gets here and i get it in and i have a 08 silverado dash coming im going to see wht it looks like in the truck or if im just going to build my own dash for it

holy crap dude that insane i was just talkin to bagged dually about those dashes cuz thats what im doin too. i measured my sister-in-laws 08 gmc friday night.

the dually dash is 63" wide.
the 08 GMC dash is 63" wide.

the steering wheels are both 15" from the drivers outside edge.
the old dash is roughly is 14" tall.

the new body dash is roughly 16"

there is a perfect groove just inside of the defrost vents to cut on

if you cut that line, the deepest section of the dash will be 14" deep, thats from the cut to the face of the a/c knobs.

im excited about doing it.

hahaha small world i was looking at it and was thinking it would be pretty cool looking with the new dash im going to go with a under the dash heater and ac so i think it would fit good under there
