Quick update: I'm gutting the suburban now and I'm finding out that a lot of the interior will not work in my truck:( but I will still get the windshield, grill assy, and the front bench (gotta have the bench as I can't stand the vinyl in my truck) and I'm robbing the rear door tinted glass. So now I guess I will finish pulling the motor/tranny and the rest is goin on Craigslist. If the parts don't sell it will go to the scrapper. I found out the carpet might not work since the tranny tunnel is different, my dually is a much bigger tunnel than the burb and the rear is flat in the burb.

All I can say is what ever engineer designed the rear door window assemblies is a FN idiot and needs his ass whipped. Worst damn design, they suck! Been a long day but I got the engine/tranny out of the burb and got the rear door glass swapped, all I need to do is rob the windshield and buy a gasket to install it in the dually. The seat is off to my buddy to get cleaned then I can install it in the dually as well. Gonna suck havin a multi colored interior for a while but I will just have to hit the local junk yard now and then to try to find the rest. Or order it new:( Ill get pics of the carnage tomorrow its too dark tonight.

Your day sounds a lot like my day... Trying to get done as much as possible before the real cold weather sets in. Pulling the engine/trans out is a bear! They are never easy, and act sometimes like they don't want to ever come out. That is why I am glad that I graduated from bigger hammmer school. Our school moto is "If it dosen't work use a bigger hammer!"

Well, with the suburban out of the way tonight I managed to clean up the grill chrome and got the metallic grey repainted. Now as soon as I get the core support cleaned up I can swap them if I can get it done before the weather goes to crap? I also got word from my buddy that does upholstery cleaning that he got the grey cloth bench cleaned up, so he's dropping it off tomorrow night. Can't wait to get the front seat swapped out I hate the vinyl! I think I'm going to paint the emblem white since the gold is separating, it would match the truck better anyway.

Got the bridges built last night. I'll just keep doing little projects through the winter and when spring gets here it won't take much to bag hopefully.

Those look great! I will start on mine next weekend. I ordered my plasma/tig/stick welder on Friday and it should be in by Thursday.

So the other day I was at the local bone yard browsing for parts for the dually when I stumbled into a tailgate (aftermarket) but it was new in the box and they didnt know what they had, so I just told them i found a "good" used tailgate and asked how much? They told me $50 if I took it off myself. So I went back out there the next day and pulled it out of the box and carried it inside, handed them $50 and said thanks, so I scored a new aftermarket tailgate, took it home and painted it quick like and now its installed. I think that was my awesome score for the year if I ever found one. Here is a pic of the old one, and the new one painted.

Unfortunately I don't have any updates as the weather sucks and it's way too cold to work on the truck (yesterdays high was 12) I hate that the truck won't fit in my garage.....hopefully in 6-8 weeks I'll be cuttin and slicin on it? Just figured I'd chime in, I'm still kickin in cold ass Iowa.

The only update is that I just picked up a handy dandy plasma cutter and a sandblast cabinet this last week, so as soon as the warmer weather gets here, I'll break in the plasma cutter properly!LOL and I'm sure the sandblaster will get used extensively also. It should make short work of doin the stock floor body drop and the bags. I can't wait!
