Oh, good Lord. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with rust.

Ya thats a shit load of rust. I've never seen a truck rust that bad. Will you at least tell us what part of the country you live in??Gotta be north some where. It's a pretty clean truck for it's age minus the rust in the cab it looks like though. You mihgt be time and money ahead just to replace the entire cab with a clean southern cab. Unless you just want to mess with that one. Completely up to you though.

P.S. Generally if you tell us what State you live in a lot of members will try to help you out with their left over parts and try to help you. I'm not telling you to tell everyone your actual address though lol.

Actually the history behind the truck is quite interesting. I bought it off of a guy that used it to haul around his top fuel drag race cars. So this truck has been literally all over the country! I don't know where it originally came from though.

Because this guy was a motor head per say, he swapped out the tranny for an automatic one for easier hauling I imagine. All the emissions stuff has been removed because the truck is an 81. Edelbrock intake manifold, just general upgrades like that.

I am thinking about getting a new cab, or just one in better condition then the one I have. That can't be hard to find! haha I can't imagine it would be easy to swap cabs...Maybe just a 12 hour job with the right tools lined up.

I see why you guys wanted where I lived....I gotcha. I live in NY if any of you guys are around with parts!

If you're really serious, I've got a pretty solid cab that I'd be willing to part with. Shipping might be rough but I can def get it loaded onto a truck for ya.

Yea NY is alittle to far for my cab....but honestly a cab swap wouldnt be to bad as long as you have a way to move and lift them....if you have the bed and front clip off i could swap the cab in literally an hour or less....theres only 6 bolts on the bottom(which will prolly be a bitch to get loose on that truck) brake lines loose from booster, wiring harness unscrews on driver side and pulls loose, few a/c lines and lift it off...sit new cab on and spend a few days putting it back together

You can ship a cab? Ya learn something every day I guess! That's pretty cool, what are you looking to get for the cab? Any idea how much the shipping damage would be?

Just doing a little research so I can make a decision. New cab does seem like a good route to go

Doing some serious thinking about it. I need to know your price for it minus the shipping price of course. And I would really like to see the cab, got any pictures?
