So Santa UPS dropped by today and left these toys for me to play with! Trying to get this truck ready for Lone Star Throwdown and other 2016 shows.

So this 1968 GMC came home with me over Christmas. It was way to good to pass up! Plus I sold the engine and trans out of it today and made more on that deal than I paid for the whole truck! Super cool! Right after I get the Dually on the road and ready for this years Lone Star Throwdown I will start tearing down the 68. This is going to be a fun build!

from wat i can see from the foto's it looks pretty straight and theres not a lot of rust either
might want to look intoo those hubcaps , they might be worth some money if you have a complete set

All of those hubcaps are roached! Yeah this ride is really rust free, only one spot on the lower rear passenger side, and it is only the size of a quarter. So at least I will not have to spend countless hours cutting and replacing all those normal panels. It is hard to hold back tearing into this when I know I have to finish up the Dually.

Well I sold the engine and trans out of the 68 GMC over the weekend. I got more from that than I paid for the truck! Bye bye 305 V6, hello LS!!!

Well I actually got some real work done on the truck tonight. I am changing out the brake booster and master cylinder from the Suburban to the correct hydro boost booster and matching master cylinder. The brakes should work a lot better from now on. The only thing I have left to do is get new lines made up for the high pressure side, and get a "T" fitting to tie into the low pressure return line. The pics below show the new master and the hydro boost just after I shot some Rustoleum on them for protection.

Lots more to do before it rolls out of the shop, but at least I am checking off one item at a time.

Stay tuned...

That is very humbling Old as Dirt, thanks. Do me a favor and start a forum on your up coming ride and let me know where it is. I really appreciate all the hard work others do on their rides.

The hydro boost is now done! Ok I still have to bleed the brakes, but hey it's mostly done!! Yes the brake lines need the bends to be cleaned up, and all that wiring needs to be cleaned up as well. The underside of the engine bay really needs some attention.

I was so glad to have the OEM lines from Napa. They made this so much easier and cleaner. I also did the spark plugs on this side of the motor because the brake system was out of the way. Talk about a knuckle buster with all that stuff in the way... I will get the other side done tomorrow, we are now getting freezing rain and more snow on the way. Yeah!
