No way! One of the Orielly distribution centers is here in Lubock. I wish I had known... What else do they carry that you have used on your project?

Ordered my new plasma/tig/stick welder on Friday. Should be in by this coming Thursday. Can't wait to get more in depth on the fabrication of this ride. I would rather have TIG welds on the structural parts. I am so looking forward to using the plasma! Been watching videos on YouTube of guys slicing everthing they can get their hands on with their plasma machines.

I got my plasma/tig/stick welder in tonight. Man is it cool!!! I cut a bunch of test samples once I got the machine all hooked up. It cuts 1/4 inch plate like butter! The first couple of passes were ugly, but pretty soon I had the speed and the distance away from the surface working a lot smoother and my cuts were coming out much better.

Got to go by the welding supply shop in the next couple of days and get a tank and supplies for the tig machine.

Glad to hear you got one of those accurate tools machines. I was checking them out as well. They looked nice, and at a killer price!!Tell me what you think once you get a chance to use it.

Now that I got my new machine I will start to really get to work on the fabrication. I had a blast working with my machine last night getting it all set up, and then testing it.

I ordered today a watts link center member. These are made for the Chrysler Prowler. This is going to save me a ton of time fabricating one and it is built like a tank! All I have to do now is build the mounts and the link arms. Oh yeah it was only $23.79 to my door!

SMART! Big manufacturer engineering for only 24 bucks- that is a bargain.

Been busy in the shop today. Took my 3x5 tubing and cut the pieces out to start the towers. Tonight I will do the grinding and get them prep'd for welding tomorrow. I might even get them tacked up tonight. Man that plasma cutter came in handy today!

I also got the rear end all cleaned up, the old spring perches cut off, and the old welds ground off. Dirty work but it hast be done!

If I can get the towers all welded up tomorrow I am going to continue working on the link arms and get them finished up as well.

Well I went back out after dinner tonight and cleaned up all the cuts and ground down everthing to get ready for tacking it together. OK I also cleaned up the shop floor from all the grinding material and slag, what a mess! After that I laid out the box tubing and tacked them together. I left a lot of extra material on the bottom of the legs so I could set them where I wanted and then cut what was required off the bottom.

Tomorrow after church I plan on welding up the notches and plating the junctions. I also plan on getting the frame rails cut out so I can set the notches in and do final trimming.
