So I just got my truck this last Sunday. Mostly to turn a buck on it but the longer I look at it the more I think it has potential to be a fun toy. I was never one for low riders but this thing is growing on me.
Plus the best part is a guy traded me straight up for an old Farmall M I had laying around...so I wasn't out anything.
So far the only problems I've noticed are loose battery posts (easy), its missing a front shock lol (was already told to look at early '90s Isuzu shocks), but if anyone has a good deal on bags I'd appreciate it. The biggest issue is my passenger side door won't unlock or open so I can't remove the panel to fix (I started a thread in exterior).
I'm really liking the forum too it helped me decide to trade once I seem an entire forum dedicated to these vehicles
Oh and I don't think the tach is quite on the spot when revving it but I can deal with shift points by sound

Welcome! I know what u mean about having it grow on you. I wasn't really into lowered anything but now I'm hooked! This forum is the reason I bought mine. There are a lot of helpful people here so don't be afraid to ask. Sorry about your door problem. I'm not much help on that matter...

parts for the 86-93 mazdas are everywhere. you should be able to take the door handle off and the window crank and pull the panel off. if not just cut it. if where you live was like here, the wreckers will have 100's

You could try removing the passenger seat to get better access to try to pull the pass door panel... Otherwise you might have to destroy the panel to get inside the door to get it to open...

Seriously, 4 bolts holding that seat in, pull it, that really should give you the room you need to be able to pull the door panel so you can get a look inside to figure out the problem with minimal destruction...

So I'm taking it as there are just a bunch of clips holding it in? I have the seat out already

Thanks 91extcab...I opened door and everything works on it properly seemed to me that it was just bound up in there. Ya have to love when it doesn't take money for a repair and you can work on it when it's 60 degrees in December

its been gettin colder than that here... be glad you dont have shaved handles (yet), or power windows... they can be a pain with the cold weather, especially since my windows seem to pull harder on the window seals when the temps are colder...

sometimes it helps to have a parts truck just hanging out in case you end up needing anything... or atleast after multiple trips to a local junkyard you can have yourself a small collection of some of the generic nuts/bolts or some of the harder to find items (like the rear wing window locking snap deals, the ones used to open or latch the window shut on the ext cabs)
