I know exactly what you mean...I'm 15 miles from town (8k people) out in the boonies. It's so far out we can't get Internet except for 1mbs from Hughesnet. So I have a nice collection of fasteners, but most of my experience comes from 2 strokes. We moved up here in March and haven't located any salvage yards except from where we previously lived in Sioux City (45 miles).

Ok I posted this in wheel mods but haven't gotten an answer so maybe you could help

So I just got the title for my '93 b2600i and now I feel I can really start working on it.
Anyways my current dilemma started when I noticed a low tire on the rear (no biggie it was a nail already fixed). I took off the cap for the rims and personally think the lug studs are too short and I don't feel safe driving it too much

I'm posting from my iphone so I can't get pics on here easily but that's the link to some pics I took

From what I've searched and found a lot of people grind off the tabs on the hubs. Now do you grind them all the way off or just enough to get the rim to sit inside?
My second question is what size lug studs do y'all use to replace the stock?
It was late in the day to start ripping and a tearing into it so I wanted to have an idea about where I should start tomorrow

Thanks

the stock rims already fit flush to the axle in the back and the spindles up front. those of us that grind tabs are so we can fit factory wheels from manufacturers other than mazda that use a smaller center bore if we choose not to have the wheels bored out to fit the hubs. if i remember right mazda uses a 3.5" center bore, and gm uses a 3in. or something like that.

the factory studs were long enough for me to use (and i also used the factory nuts) when i had my z71's and never had any problem, and the z71's are by far thicker at the stud than the factory mazda steel wheels or even my current 14's (same thickness at the studs as stock) and still never had a problem with them...
