How's it going everyone, names John. I'm a motorcycle racer but have always had a interest in building my own mini truck... well I bought a 97 s10 to tow the race bike around and build when I had the money to... well it blew up and spared no expense in doing so... yesterday I picked up a 92 mazda b2200 2.2l 5 speed with 80,000 miles for 1k.always heard good things about these trucks and it was a smoking deal. The one I have is the base model... so I named her "plain jane". needs a few small things fixed but nothing major.

now, I really want to do a static drop and 17/18 inch rims but I have NO idea what I'm doing or where to get the parts... any help would be awesome. I work on motorcycles so I'm not completely ignorant to mechanics but I've never really worked on cars much.

Also is there anything about these trucks I should be aware of now? good or bad to keep an eye out for.

thanks and hope to get to know some of you guys on here while I build jane

hey man... static lowering isnt hard. u know the blocks used to lift trucks??? they are the same blocks that lower our trucks because the leaf spring sits below the rear accel. you can getm at advance for like 30 bux for 3 in. blocks. youl need new hardware. as for the front, reindex torsion bars. turn one or two teeth clockwise on the pasenger side and counter clockwise for drivers side that way u have the same amount of bolt thread and dont risk ripping them out. hope this helps. im sure u can find more detail on this site if this aint enough. may need slanted blocks if u have a two peice drive shaft.

Welcome to the site, I think you'll find that these trucks are easy to work on. You don't really need to buy much to do a static drop.

awesome thanks guys! I was looking at a few threads in the suspension section after I posted this.. looks fairly easy but knowing me I'll still over think it lol I need a truck buddy but everyone I know only knows bikes.

I'll keep reading on here, already learned a lot and can't wait to start tearing stuff apart, see what makes it work and re building my way.

With no radio, ac, power steering ext I've got a lot to do but I like doing the work

Do you have any pics of your bikes? There are a lot of guys that also ride on the site.

not sure if I posted the pictures right... trying to do it o my phone. I was the 2011 ccs sw amateur champion, took home 5 different championships and 13 podium finishes that year (first year racing sport bikes) gained My expert race license for the next year and did my first expert race in California, February 2012 on the same primarily stock bike and came in 15th out of 32 very fast riders. at that point I needed better equipment and took the rest of the year off to buy a Ama spec bike (about to pick up here soon) if all goes well I'll make my dream of grinding up in the Ama in the next few years.

I work for total seal piston rings here in Phoenix and part time at dtr motorsports (owned by Dustin apgar... you tube helmet drag

I eat sleep and bleed motorcycles and my whole life is dedicated to going as fast as possible... now I want to build a mini to slow down and enjoy something different in between racing.

anyone on here from Phoenix?

It's an inline 4 cylinder 600cc with 108 hp to the rear wheel. geared correctly she would probably max out around the 170 maybe 180mph range. she's set up more for dragging an elbow around a corner ar 120 lol cost me around 15k all together and have beaten half million dollar "super" cars.

my new bike will be the same but full race suspension, Ama spec motor (about 120hp to the rear) and a hell of a lot lighter. The power to weight ratio is huge compared to cars. 350 lb bike with 120hp... I don't even know what that equals out to in a car but it's a lot.

my bike bone stock ran a 10.77 @ 131mph in the quarter.
