It is a great life and have met some of the most amazing... interesting people lol I have fun everyday... but it's a VERY expensive sport so unfortunately I don't get to play as much as I wish I could.

o dam i didnt realize motorcycles made 4 cylinder bikes.

Yup, 1 cylinder, 2 cylinder v twin and inline, 3 cylinder inline and staggered cylinder, 4 cylinder inline oval piston 4 cylinder, "boxer" style 4 cylinder and v4. 6 cylinder...Soooooo many combinations... turbo, 2 stroke, 4 stroke... heck there's even the y2k bike with a rolls Royce jet engine lol

It's all I know... and I'm starting to realize that I know NOTHING about trucks... I'm about to sound like an idiot to you guys but I've been reading a lot on here and don't understand anything... what's pinion angle... 4 links... drop spindles... or spindles in general... re index torsion bars... (what's a torsion bar?)... I know nothing about trucks but really want to learn and do the work myself or with a few friends... am I getting over my head or is there a easy way for me to learn this stuff. I've added 2 extra wheels and a lot more parts to what I'm used to lol

Well I'm still a bit of a newbie myself but you'll catch on fast. Torsion bars are essentially front springs(kinda) they position your lower control arm vertically. Spindles are what you mount you hub to (brakes, bearings wheels) and re indexing torsion bars is changing the position of the torsion bars to raise or lower the front end (just mess with them a little bit and you'll soon figure them out! The write up here is pretty good at explaining the process) pinion angle is a hard topic to explain... I guess it's simply the angle of your rear differential. And 4 links are a rear suspension setup used for adjustable suspension (at least in most of our cases) it allows you to raise and lower the rear of the vehicle without causing the pinion angle to bind up your universal joints and such. (please don't shoot me for these answers guys! I'm still a newb)

I'll let some of the guys who know what the hell they're talking about give you a more in depth (and probably more correct) answers.

Glad to have ya on board this is an awesome forum! Just read read read and sooner than later you'll start to get the picture.

spindles makes sense now but when would I need to install "drop spindles"?

4 link in theory makes more sense now but I have no idea how to set one up... I want to do air ride one day but ill save my 20 questions game for a later date lol

pinion angle... I'll wait for someone to tell me I need to worry about it and go from there...

now... this torsion bar stuff. I goggled it to learn a little more and makes perfect sense (I learn better by hands on or seeing... never could grasp things I've read from a book) any who, which bar is it? I took a look under and saw the spindle, shock, hub, steering linkage... then there's these two bars, ones in the shape of a" u" connecting both sides together. with maybe 12mm nuts and a 2 inch spacer between the bar and where it is mounted on the spindle. then there is a shorter bar right next to it with a giant (38mm ish?) nut... which is the torsion bar and which do I "re index".

as for the blocks in the back... looks easy enough just need to find torque specs for everything

thanks for the help guys

i dont know about spindles and pinion angles yet but heres some pics of a tortion bar i found on here.

notice the front side isnt bolted? it slides in and has teeth to hold it. u turn it clockwise on passengerside and vise versa on the other to avoid loosening that bolt and leaving it with less thread to hold it. and the back of your torsion bar wont be as exposed.

perfect thanks! I don't know what the hell I was looking at but now I'm 100% clear on what to do.

one more, final question on this... I promise this time lol if I turn 2 splines what size blocks should I put on the rear to level it out, should I put new shocks on and why do people remove a leaf spring (pros/cons... should I just leave them alone... look kinda scary to fuck with)

going to try this, this weekend if I can find the blocks somewhere
