Y not swap an oem cluster with tach? Way cleaner!

Because the odometer would be wrong for that engine. Plus, I don't mind the look of the aftermarket tach. It's very cool looking.

Go for the '68 Firebird (that would be for six or eight cylinder) look (design yours for a four cylinder tach you have already bought that is a size you can find another like model, were the first to die). This must be a weather proof model, since it would be in the hood "bump". And of course can be set for 4, 6, 8 cylinder.

Disassembling a new one to set the odometer looking easier? Were looks to count for anything.

I installed the tach today. It looks good to me.

My clock is where two other posters in this thread have their tach.

I'm happy with it.

Good spot, hard to clean around. Location might look better more centered in the space? Spacer piece of metal or plastic custom made to fit/cover the space [(by you of course) maybe cover the entire landing?] under the tach will cover first mounting holes. The other material would be much easier to clean, just a wipe, not rugged plastic ?

I'm going to go minimalist on this project for now. As it stands, I like where it is and I can get a paper towel behind it to clean the window and dash, so I think it's good for now. I mounted it using two-sided tape, so I can move it at will, since I didn't drill any holes.

That was a really good idea.
