Yes, that 3M stuff that you can buy at most automotive parts stores is very sticky, but it is removable with a little effort.

I also "painted" the 74 bulb that is in the tach with an orange sharpie, so the resulting amber illumination is similar to the entire dash as a whole.

This is my front bumper...

Notice that there is a gap that is significantly larger on the driver's side than the passenger side. It's been this way ever since I got it. Is there an easy adjustment that I can do to raise the driver's side (or lower the passenger side) to even out the gaps to be relatively equal?

Also, I'm thinking of getting a chrome grille, since after my MAACO respray paint job, there's just too much charcoal gray on the front. The chrome ones I see online (eBay, Amazon, etc.) cost about $90+ dollars shipped without the emblem. Is there a better price out there than this?

TIA.

First choice, raise the hood, support it, then lower the latch assembly about an eight of an inch.
Before you loosen the bolts to start playing with it, either with a pen/pencil/point of a knife, scribe around the latch assembly where it is now. Now adjust away, stop when (before) it gets too hard to pull the release.
Maybe take the release cable off and lubricate down into the sheath it runs in, better than never doing it, breaking it, buying a new one! Naturally, lube the latching assembly somewhere during this time, wipe up mess, truck on!
Another choice, so the body seam lines match, gentle remove the rubber pad on the passenger side, put a washer on it, reinstall. This should raise the passenger side up as is the driver's side, potaato/potato.

Are you satisfied with the Maaco paint job? Can you share the approximate cost?

I got my 1971 VW Convertible painted by Maaco in early 1978, and it's held up pretty well.

All MAACOs aren't made alike. The one I went to is excellent and was recommended by a person whose opinion I value. Then, there are other franchises that are pure crap.

My paint job cost me almost $600. I'm happy with my purchase.

The second choice seems better than your original idea.

Hence the reason for the choice, the rubber "bumper" may be tired and have to be replaced with a more forgiving new one to do the stretch. I am guessing it has a stem to pull through from the bottom. Don't forget to lube it for the slide through the hole. Dish liquid is good for this, and dries sticky, so it will stay in place.

Yes, important to check the paint jobs on some of their freshly-painted vehicles.

I see geterdun was talking about the hood. I thought u were meaning your crooked bumper?

And yes it is adjustable. Actually the right side needs to come down to match.
