Mine is stock at the moment. Don't feel bad Lime, I want to lift mine a little. Mine is a 1984 B2000. I have only seen one lifted '84...here it is...

This is Willie's '84 (I think it looks awsome)

Yeah, I like that one too. I also like the gun in the first pic. Maybe I should start a new thread..."Post your Mazda + gun pics"

I saw that black truck and knew that was the one I wanted to SAS and make a crew cab out of. here is a rendering of what I am thinking of doing. That is an awesome truck.

Hey Lime, did you do the body lift first or suspension? If just the BL first where did you rub with the 265's? How far could you turn?

I did the body lift first. Argh, this is a memory test IIRC, I could turn *most* of the way - then it would rub on the fender well towards the front of the opening. Maybe if the marks are still there I can take a picture...

Wonder if with my wheels having a more positive (correct?) offset if I'd be better off than you using the Z71's? My wheels stick out about 2 inches or so beyond the fender and are 7" wide, (same as the Z71's), so it would move the tire out of the fenderwell more I would figure.

I would love to see a pic of your truck with those tires before you did the suspension lift I already hit the front tires on the fenders on big dip bumps, (no bumstops in right now could be the cause), so running the bigger tires I know I need the body lift just don't know if I want the suspension lift...yet.

I know you said you weren't happy with the body lift cuz you thought it would give you more room for your tires, but it didn't, (correct?).

Another question, Brain said:

What is the problem? As in what's the biggest "drawback" to running the larger tires?

I've heard some say that 31x10.5's (or 11's) made 5th gear "useless". In what way? Hows the larger tires affect city driving or highway driving?

lol I had a bug with 31x11's with a stock motor and really couldn't tell a difference in low gears, (never put it on the road before I sold it). When on the road last it had 215/75/15 BFG Mudterrain and I really noticed no difference at any speeds.

the taller tires change the gear ratio, makes it really tall....

it makes it useless because the 4 banger just dont have the power to pull that high of a gear ratio.....
