Sweet deal man thanks alot that should hep me out a little! On the 82-84 ring and pinions did the 3.3 come in the auto, stick or both?

not sure. However the rear end ratio for AT and MT trucks from 86-93 are all the same so I assume it is same for earlier as well. BJ

till this day ive never seen a 82-84 thats an auto, not trying to bash you but ive always thought it was weird never see-ing one, im never seen a 82-84 ext cab either haha *could be a good idea* haha

U R probably right. I dont know what year Mazda came out with the AT or ext cab- but I bet it was the same year -probably when they changed body styles in 1986. BJ

I have located a 83 rear axle for $50 bucks so im gonna go ahead and get it to try and gain some more top end...Are you sure that the earlier mazda ring and pinion gears just bolt in?

My knowledge about the swap is second hand, never done it but the info came from a tech website from someone who had. I tried to remember the site where I saw the info but brain fart set in . For $50 bucks it sounds like a cheap experiment but I will try and relocate the site as the person who did the swap seemed to know exactly what he (or she) was talking about.I do remember that the rear end ring and pinion was from an 82 b2000 and that it was 3.3 to 1 and that the swap went into a b2200 apparently staight bolt in. I did use the same persons info on tuning torsion bar suspensions and that info was spot on. There are probably entire axle swaps you could do but I havent seen any info out there about that. BJ
