wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

This is a different type of bracket but it explains itself.

you drill 2 holes thru your frame and run the bolts thru it

You don't want to do that. Dragging block are for pussy's lay frame do what the truck was built for.

I don't want to drag on the frame, I don't have the material or shop to replace a frame once it's been dragged to the point it needs to be replaced.

That is why I am asking about the blocks.

But, the picture of the bracket explains,

That is what i asked in the first place was do you just drill holes through the frame to bolt the bracket on and I was told not to do that.... that's all.

You should never get to the point to were your frame is complete garbage after you drag it, one drag isnt gonna ruin it.

When my truck was a daily I would say I drug it prolly 4-5 times a week and just kep plating the frame, and its fine.

Had a question basically on this topic; Slammed83Mazda, would it also work to build a drag plate instead of a drag block? What I mean is a piece of 1/4" plate measuring say 2-3" wide by say 6' long with 4 or 5 tabs (maybe more) on each side of it. Run bolts thru the tabs and the frame. Should not take much to fab up and if you use the worn out pieces to build new ones you could basically drag the frame, then replace whats worn out without having to lay on your back and make a good weld.

they would be really easy to make...that is a good idea

If you got the balls to drive a bagged truck, and got the balls to drag it, why not grow the balls to lay the rails down?

Do pimps drive Hyundais? No.

Is it nice to see a truck on bags 2 inches from the ground? No.

2 inches on each side throwing sparks is NOTHING like 6 to 8 feet of frame on each side throwing sparks.

Your frame will last longer. And IF/WHEN you burn thru it.....replate it with some 1/2 flat bar....

BUT....if ur taking the 'baby feline' route... blocks. Balls break off, sometimes prematurely.

See this is the example I dont get, not everyone wants to go out and just lay solid frame and just drag it, its not all about being hardcore and yeah my shit lays so prove it. I choose to plate my frame with 1/4 -1/2" plates all the time why? because I know it will prevent my frame from going to shit, I know my truck can lay and thats all that needs to be said.

Butttt, I am not one a fan of trailor balls I mean if thats your thing cool but I've seen them first hand break and go thru someones radiator. Big drag blocks can do the same thing.

Its just one of those risk you take.

Thats not a bad idea.

The most common thing I see when it comes to drag bars, which I actually like.

Is back were your spare tire goes on your truck run a bar from frame rail to frame rail, it can be a simple piece of 1x1 and but build some type of device to hold your blocks or balls, just so when your done you can just bolt new ones up. With this setup you would still be able to 100% lay frame, but if you didnt wanna drag the frame just jack the front up and dump the rear end.

Now see this or more logical than just dumping down and ruining your frame for the sake of saying, "Ya, i drag frame." I mean like, after dragging for a while, especially up in B.C where it rains a ton, your frame would start to rot etc* and not everybody can just go and replace a whole section of frame...

The plates welded on are a good idea too, but I would still rather make a mounting bracket like you said by the spare tire and have it bolted to that to drag.
