Oh snap!

everyone is always so quick to say to gusset those bars!
baha   +1y
lol yea this is what I thought of when I first saw that set up

but yours is definitely stronger since you used a bigger diameter tube hope it doesn't bend
impulse   +1y
take note of how the force is being applied in the ranger setup iLLblazer posted... its on 2 different points of the bars (due to the brackets) this distributes the force more. The one you posted has the force right on one point of the bars, thse bars look pretty tiny too.

well well well it seems everyone jumped my case before i even finish the job, i clearly posted the adjustable piece on the wishbone wasnt welded in and its just sitting there to give an example on what it will look like, the 1x1 tubing is 1/4" walled, yall are all critisizing me and downing me im 17 years and the DAMN JOB IS NOT DONE< I NO ITS NOT DONE, read the fuckin topic before jumping me I SAID ITS NOT DONE and THE WISHBONE ISNT EVEN WELDED TO THAT CROSSMEMBER YET, quit coming to conclusions thats its done and thats how its gonna look.

Hands down the job isnt even down the crossmember is in place for getting examples and shit its not final, so why dont impulse and illblazer jump off my back, oh and as for the lower bars being welded together, i had to shorten them and i beveled the edges 45 degrees so i can lay a nice weld in it and i ran over the welds twice and the bars are 1/4" walled so there not going anywere, im not saying im a professional or am i getting big headed and saying DAMN THAT SHITS TOP KNOTCH.

actually the force is on two points in this set up as well because the lower mount is made from a lower bag cup, each edge of the cup the bar passes through being a point. Your right it does help to distribute force on the bar but it only distributes that force the length of the bag mount. Say the mount is 6" it will help to distribute that weight 6", not the whole length of the bar the way a brace would. That really does add some strength where the bag is mounted but as you can see where it bent was infront of the bag mount. You also have to take note how close the bag is mounted to the pivot point on each set up closer to the pivot point = the greater amount of force applied to the bar

don't get me wrong I'm not trying to bash, I didn't realize it was 1.5" 1/4, it probably won't bend
low87dawg   +1y
it might not but it still needs some other kinda support

i know its not done so dont fukin yell at me
impulse   +1y

done or not its still an accident waiting to happen... and big deal if your 17... perhaps you shouldn't be attempting this stuff yet? your work doesn't make it look like you are very capable.

Also if you are shortening the bars why not shorten the end that way you dont have to weld the 2 peices back together.

If you seen this on someone else's truck would you tell them they did a good job?

i dont have any experience with bagging trucks, but i do want everyone to try to chilllllllllllllllll.
put aside any kind of ego/pride and try to help out the guys who dont have the experiece.
and for the guys who dont have the experience, try to take the the ideas and help, thats the only way u can become more knowledgable and experienced.
