its never safe to tow with a vehicle that weights less then the trailer and vehicle on the trailer..... it will almost always end up tragic and sometimes fatal... its against the law over here in the states (USA) to have a lighter vehicle tow a heavier load... you guys are very lucky.... could of been alot worse.... please tell us you learned your leason about the tow vehicle and tow to weight ratio....
