May as well show off the Caddy

So, thanks to selling my trucks and a bunch of parts,I've been able to pay for all my tools for school and I still had a bunch of money left over,and still have more coming in with my tax return and some other parts I just sold.

Anyways,I bought the car in October,and have been driving it BONE STOCK since then. It's been driving me nuts not having a modified vehicle.

In the last little while I've changed all that...

First of all,the Caddy came with the Premium Bose 8 speaker stereo,which sounded pretty damn good stock. But now it's even better....

-Sony CDX-GT710 cp/mp3 player from Kermit
-All stock speakers with a Kenwood KAC-6402 4 channel 400w amp powering the door components
-Clarion DPX11150 1500w monoblock amp. This thing is freakin dirrrrrrty and I got an awesome deal on it.
-Two Kenwood 10" subs in a ported box. Man do they ever hit hard with that Clarion amp.

Now with the stereo done,I took the Ractive cone filter off my B2600i and replaced my stock air box assembly with it and that's made a huge difference in performance and gas milage.

I also upgraded my fog light bulbs to Streetglow 100w H3 superwhites and my headlight bulbs are Ichibahn 6500k Superwhite H7s and they are fantastic. However,I ordered a set of projector lights from Ebay and they will be here next week...here's what they look like:

I think they are going to look sick as hell.

Once I have some more cash saved up,the windows are getting tinted,and when I get my tax return I can dump the snow tires and get some nice summer rubber. After that,she's all done and it's a nice clean daily driver for the next year and a half til it's paid off and I can afford another Mazda.

It's a caddy man, you need juice and some dingleballs!!!!!!!
Not to mention some 13" dayton's. Looks like a nice cruiser though, the projector lights look pimp

Anyways,I upgraded from 10" subs to 12s today. Same Kenwoods too,just bigger and louder. lol

Man I had one of those. They are actually german engineered. They have some balls and ride nice. I remember I started making a custom senter for it and custom glass enclosure....then the big D. And I lost it all. Anyways looks good bro keep us posted.

Oh yeah? I quite like it...I like it because it's uncommon. It doesn't blend in with all the STS's and Devilles and whatnot. Not only is it German engineered,it was built in Germany,like the Allante,but the Catera is just GM badge engineering at it's finest. Overseas,it's an Open/Holden Omega.

For a 200hp V6 and a slushbox,it does move along pretty good,it's fantastic for all the highway cruising I do. I'm not doing anything crazy with this car,it's just a daily driver,but I can't drive anything stock,lol.

First off, I kinda like it, the lights are dope for sure. I wouldnt buy one tho.

Ive always thought cateras look like a low end chevy 4 door of sorts. Being German engineered doesnt say much nor does where its built. Theres a bmw plant in I think colorado or something (where my moms came from) and that means nothing. They say shit like german engineered cause when u think of that u think of bmw and mercedes and the countless hours and miles the put into their cars and, with the exception of some low end german cars, the unlimited price tag of parts used in their cars. Engineering depends on production cost, performance expectations, potential buyers, and the like. In my opinion GM put a Caddy badge on the Catera to boost sales and as an experiment to see if people actually would buy it just cause of the Caddy badge (compare sales of Catera to similiar Chavys maybe).

I dont think Cadillac would be shit if it wasnt for their reputation they quickly built in the beggining. Their cars today suck balls. They are meant for rich people who buy it because its a Cadillac and looks pimp and has pimp ass features and these people usually dont plan on owning it for more than a few years. And Cadillac knows this so thats the level that they build their cars to. They make them pimp looking and hype up their reputation with big pimp ass badges and sales pitches and slogans but only design them to withsatnd the use and abuse that a rich person whose not going to own it for more than a few years can dish out.

My first hand experiences:
My first car was my dads hand me down 92 Buick Le sabre. It wasnt very asthetically pleasing but it was a damn good car and I sold it at 250,000 miles when i got my 3000GT. I mention this to show that any vehicle no matter the engineering should easily last a quarter mil miles.
My dad bought an 03 DeVille when he gave me his Buick. Its such a piece of shit. Sure he looks like a fuckin straight up G in it but its always getting shit done to it. Its got like 80 tho miles on it and has had major repair twice where they had it for a week and had to remove the engine. Of course not all Cadillacs are like this but it only started to go south after about 40 tho miles, thats why I say Cadillac designs them to last that long cause thats how long the majority of buyers will own them (rich people buy new cars like I buy a new tooth brush). They also depreciate like crazy, look at the price of one thats like 2-3 years old and compare that to new.
Chris Rock said in one of his acts something like, Cadillac can make an eldorado where the bumper dont fall off, but they dont cause thats not where the moneys at. He was talking about aids and the cure, where the moneys not in the cure but rather the medicine to treat it and stuff.

Anyways, thats my experience and stuff.

Always like the body style of the Catera, looks nice man. Would look sick with juice or bags. And I'm very jealous of your system.
