its not just the caddy's that are cheap, ALL new cars are super cheap. I was looking at a Caliber RT last month and the entire interior is like a molded blob of plastic. Anything and everything that could be plastic, was. Fit and finish on new cars is crap. There is no quality,no pride in workmanship and assembly, just throw it together, make sure it looks good enough and ship it.

Good luck on the wheel sale...now sell my damn jet ski too...lol That car will look kick ass blacked out. Also I do have to agree... ///Alpine all the way. However if you don't have a small fortune Clarions are pretty darn nice as well.

Well, the guy didnt take the wheels because they're 2 piece and you can't bore out the centres on steel rims. They were to go on a Hardbody and they have a 4" hub,and these rims are 3 3/8",so that wasn't going to work.

I really think almost all new GM cars are crap. My fiance and I have a 1999 Saab 9-3 at the moment (yes, Saab has been owned by GM since 1993) and everything on it is crapping out. Both pullies in the rear windows snapped so now we have to jam a screwdriver in each one just to hold it up, there's a short in all of the taillights, and the whole interior is so fragile. Luckily the motor is still manufactured by Saab, 190k, turbo, and still runs like new.

Sorry to jack your thread man.

Oh yeah, are the Catera's RWD?

yup,Cateras were the only RWD Caddy offered at the time. It has defeatable traction control,so you can actually drift it or do nice burnouts, lol.

I've always liked Saabs too,but they've always been iffy on quality and reliablity. That sucks about yours.

Honestly the worst vehicle I've seen in some time is my mom's 2001 Kia Sportage. There's always something wrong with it and it's built like a tin can. The quarter panels are already completely rusted through.

One of the best, has been my step dad's 2002 Mazfa B4000. It has 370 000km on it,and the body and interior are in great shape, and he's not one to baby his vehicles either. He just gets in and drives it and uses it like a tool basically. Very few mechanical problems with it,and the big stuff was all warranty repairs or defects. That truck has more than paid for itself by now.

That's awesome that they're RWD. I hate FWD especially on Caddies.

It's not necessarily all the quality's fault on the Saab's, it's the cost for replacement parts that makes me want to rip my face off. It acts funny sometimes but show me a vehicle that has 190K and doesn't.

I think your Catera would look sick with a load of negative camber all the way around and some deep dishes. I'm not being trendy because I think big deep wheels look bad-ass on most cars, especially a Caddy with a system like that.

Well,you can't argue with a car lasting 190k.

I've been trying to find aftermarket parts for the car,but everything is in German and from Germany too...I want the Steinmetz skirt kit and the Eibach 2" drop springs...but for now,I like the air shocks in the back.

I'd definet;y like a nice set of deep dish 18s for it,but I can't afford to do anything til I'm working at a paying job again,so that won't be til the fall or spring when I can spend any more money.

1dayiwill...you're right....the interior in that DTS looks like it could be in a Cobalt or something.

Wish they would have released one in this body style in America...

The Opel Omega of this day is the Saturn Aura over here. They need to make up their minds, haha. Yeah, your Catera could at least look like a race car np if they'd just sell some of the exterior parts here.

Yesssss....the one in that pic that got badged as a Lotus Carlton is absolutely sick. 177mph,fastest street legal sedan in it's day, with a Corvette 6 speed. Very dated looking, but very cool.

The Catera is definetly a very under rated car in our market. People go nuts for the Omegas overseas. I'd love to join one of the Omega forums, but they're all in German or some crazy ass european languages, haha!
