WHAT IS THIS THING????

Can somebody tell me what this is? its on the passenger side. passenger brake line connects to it. i think this is the cause of my passenger brake locking up.. sorry for the dark pics. but its right behing the air filter on the firewall..

Oh I was going to mention this in your other thread. That part looks like the front proportioning bypass valve

Is there any way to get rid of this thing? or know where i can get another for cheap? and I know.. my cameras flash sucs and its 10 oclock here. lol

Your local auto parts store should have them or be able to order them. I like going to Advance or Auto zone. I hate Napa lol

I always go to o reillys. they have had every part so far, but napa and advanced said that the brake proportioner is a dealer only item.. and im not paying 600-700 bucks for one. lol no way to eliminate it?

Wow, is that really what you were quoted? I would put a want ad here or check ebay. A lot of guys are parting out trucks so I'm sure one of them has one lying around. Another option would be a salvage yard.


I wouldn't eliminate it lol. I've eliminated ones in the rear before but I'm to scared to do away with one on the front.

yeah keep the porp valve in place and functional. These are critical for even braking.

Well itll be in place. But im not to sure about functional. lol my front right brake locks up after about 10-15 minutes of driving.. new caliper. line from the prop. vave and new hose...
