So whats trucks or builds inspired your build?

i was talking to mikey about our builds and this question popped into my head. whats trucks or projects have inspired you in your build?

i can say that cl chris single cab build with the tahoe 20s is what gave me the bug at first. then seeing a few builds on 22s, looking at many bodydropped projects also helped me. tuckin20s build,mikeys build, and so much more. zachs mazda on 22s inspired me. and hearing people say you cant put 22s on a bd to rocker couldnt be done. so i wanted to prove them wrong lol. and i love the way they look. bagdb2200s build. with his whole truck. the brakes and firewall. so much more ill add when i think of it lol

so i ask you guys...what inspired you?

I have watched this sport change over the last 20 years or so. I didn't even know of this site when I bought my new truck in June. So I guess I had ideas of what I wanted but not all the knowledge to do it. Since I found this site I would have to say I have gotten inspiation from all the build threads I've read.

my insperation wasn't a mazda ... My "bug" so to speak was caught when i met phil fowler from Lowrollers Truck club of del.. hE ALSO shoots for Mini truckin . When i first saw his truck i was like damn i was never into the mini scene til i started hanging out hardcore with him and his crew .


I HAVE to say watchin his truck transform over the years to the "never Finished" status has me wanting to get my truck done and hit the highways low and slow.

back in 2004 is when i got interested in mini's. my buddy Ryan had a nice full size Chevy and the club show n low would hang out on the weekends. a couple months later i drove up to dropzone in Salem, Oregon and the rest is history.

my buddy Dan had his truck build by him and seeing how it went from stock to what it looked like at dropzone was amazing to me at the time:





I almost got this truck a little over a year ago, but seeing it in person was so different. he didnt take care of it, was all rusted underneath rollpan was ripped halfway off, and more, so i passed on it.

I've seen a lot over the years, if we're taking about what got you into mini trucks, then for me it was ryan with his bright yellow bagged b with tribal flames (if I'm remembering right), but if we're taking about what trucks inspired us, I'd have to say for me it would be part mikey with his truck atleast for the notch and his wire tuck, lee agers from before I ever met him thru this site when I first saw a picture of one his old trucks in mini truckin, and I was completely clueless about where he "got" his "stock" looking grill

Otherwise a lot of encouragement from everyone on here has just gotten me to try to think outside the box as far as how I should go with my truck. every truck I'd unique in it's own way that I've just tried to make sure I don't make am exact copy of any one truck. And I kind of let my truck guide me in how I end up building it

i cant say anything even close to what you guys say cause i have no desire to put the time into my truck to make it look nice like that...i built mine for drifting and drifting only. What made me decide to go with a b2k? Probally because i had decide to build a drifter...put a small block in it..and then found the truck for 200 bucks...it was cheap and i liked it cause it was different thatn anything that anyone around here has done. Ive got to give it up to everyone on this site that took the time to look at the fine details of every little thing that when on there truck where as with me...it only has to perform..not look good. So i give it up to you guys!!!

there were lots of trucks that inspired me with my gray truck the first time around, i cant find any pics cuz it was so long ago, the features werent even posted on there site

as for the re-do, the feature reincarnation was what got me going, and others also



as for my black truck, the old 50's hotrod/ratrod era is what got me

The truck that made me want to get in to the scene is that blue truck in the signature just above me. Thank you so much mike for breaking my wallet.

i got into this in '87, my buddy bought a new '86 s10 and static dropped it and cut off the roof in the first 6 months he had it, i couldn't believe how awsome it looked for such a small pile of money, under $7,000 for a new vehicle with such attitude. I sold my barracuda and i bought my mazda in april '87 and had it as low as reindexing and blocks could get it within days, cut the roof in the summer and loved life, new truck, never broke down, and total head turner. MiniTruckin mag showed tons of what was happening on the west coast and we dug it. Over the next two years this is what we rolled.






then, reality set in, the ride sucked balls, no a/c sucked more, people were constantly stealing my audio equip, so i locked it up and it sat for 12-13 years. I was looking to build something again, a nova, after siffting through 30 crappy cars that owners thought were made of gold, i went to the old maz, just wanted to rebuild the carb and drive it occasionally. Then remembered how lame that 80hp beast was, so i'll just swap in a v8, and the crappy ride, i'll just mod the suspention a bit with some coil overs, and on and on........

this 30 ford on overhaulin locked down the current build look for me on the interior and exterior






my dash is inspired by the spyker, just not as busy
