I read some posts where new members assumed this site was just for people into bagging and lowering but this site is open to everything.

Can you point out what made you think this site was just for bagging? I want to change that so when potential members visit the site they know as long as they have interest in the B Series this site is for them!

Umm...Because the forum founder's signature is for "Modplant" that displays only bag brackets and compressors?

LOL! I'm just kidding!

Its just the main flow of content on the site. People lurk for a while and then sign up later...The majority of activity is in the "projects" and most of the tech write-ups are suspension modding and various other modifications. Not as many service and maintenance tech write ups. But with the inflow of mazdatruckin guys..Its likely that techy stuff will start to flow in. From the mazda vets that drive their mazda's in stock form, keeping them running in tip-top shape; not dropping it and making it look like a show truck. (And guys that still use their tape deck )

A problem with splitting engine groups is..a lot of new guys don't know what engine they have. A lot of them get swapped out by previous owners...Head swapped from B2000 onto a B2200... Crazy engine swaps from forklifts and stuff... Its easier to get tech info on an engine if the B2200 and B2000 were one group. That way we get info from guys that know about both engines in one place.

Its also a bit split up in your "general" area's. You have "General Tech"...and then inside the repair section you have "general engine", "Exterior" and "interior" It sort of leaves an unneeded decision on where to post a repair question about some areas of repair.

Hypothetical situation (This has only happened twice): Hmm...My headlights are catching on fire... Well...That's sorta exterior...But its controlled from the interior...Its kinda general repair tech also... Well maybe I need to be in the modification section..Because something obviously needs modified. Or maybe adding a fire suppression system. Or maybe ranger headlights are less (or more) prone to catching on fire? I'm so confused!!

So perhaps split the "general tech" area into 1'st gen, 2'nd gen. and maybe 4X4. And get rid of the "exterior and interior" categories.

I know its kinda a pain for me to browse through several areas to look for people that have questions about something I know about. Like guys posting tech questions in here..in the general discussion...and the Blog section? I'm finding people in there with serious tech questions. It just seems weird.

Their preconceived notions of what you can do with these trucks?
Don't think the site gives that impression tbh.
as for flow... what SD says ^^

i guess i didnt get that impression when i signed up. I was honestly looking for any ideas at all as far as customizing. For what im doing it would never make sense to put air bags on or anything like that. I love this forum the way it is personally.

I think that people get that idea because the majority of users that have a thread on here have some serious projects going on, which a lot of the time they include bags. I think a lot of the people that were regulars on MT used that site more like a source for stock trucks. Not 100% sure but that's the impression I get. But I definitely love this site.

Could be because the banner picture on the top right of the home page is a bagged and lowered truck? Just a thought......and the newest articles in each section seem to be mainly about lowering trucks so they scrape manhole covers all the way down the street?

I thought this solely was a bagging/custom site too, so I stayed on MT all the time until it folded up. Anyway, I am glad I was wrong and everyone on here is friendly. Think I'll be staying around.

I don't feel the site is geared toward any particular style.

... BUT...

By far, the largest part of the user base, leads one to feel the direction this site follows... is down to the ground, dragging the frame out from beneath your truck.

When i signed up i just assumed it was for anyone with a mazda b series. i myself have a 87 4x4 but i also enjoy seeing all the slammed dudes on here. but i just thought it was a truck forum. its not like the domain name is slammedmazdas.com lol

Agreed, I also don't think the site was soley designed to be for baggin projects but that's what was here for the most part. I think with the addition of the MT guys it's got something it didn't have much of before... 86SunDowner said it best, MT had a lot more stock or moderate mods going on while the majority here are all out bagging and show truck projects - which I love to look at.

You could see this on MT when someone would say "look what I'm doing, for more details go to MazdaBScene.com".

That being said most former MT guys here now don't have major projects going on, as evidenced by some of us "reviewing" what we've done recently for our new audience (ie Steve_Az, Cusser, and me). Axel Breaker Earl is adicted to Bs so I'm sure he'll have a nother project truck to share with us very soon. Others with projects in the works have not moved to/joined this site yet.

I think there is a good mix now. Dan
