I bought my engine hoist there good quality and works great. Also bought a small pancake compressor dirt cheap for my pneumatic nail gun.

I usually try to stay away from hand tools unless its something I dont need to use a lot

I also have the HF click-type torque wrenches, used them on my 2011 engine rebuild.

Oh yeah! I forgot about those. I've got the 1/4" and 3/8" from them. My two 1/2"'s are better quality, because I use them a lot more.

I check all of my torque wrenches about once a month at work for calibration. My two CDI 1/2 wrenches have needed calibration twice to stay within the +/- 1%. My HF wrenches haven't needed any adjustments to stay within the +/- 4% range. I use the crap out of my torque wrenches. Its been driven into my mind to grab a torque wrench for almost everything I tighten because of the aviation work I do.

So yeah, the torque wrenches are legit.

I got a breaker bar at HF, and it has been really useful for wheel nuts and a severely seized axle nut on a motorbike that had been parked outside for years. Haven't bought much stuff there, but I have a fistful of their 20% off coupons in my truck for when I do need something.

I did get a multimeter there and it sucked. The free LED flashlights they give away are pretty good, and very bright.

I have a bunch of HF tools and haven't really had any bad experiences with them. The pump in my parts washer comes and goes but it's 5-6 years old. I have used the crap out of my $9.99 4 1/2 inch electric grinder and haven't had any problems. I did pull the head apart and pack it full of bearing grease when I first got it. My air cut off tool isn't the most powerful but always works. Most all my hand tools are snap on or craftsman. Have a set of HF 1/2 impact sockets that I use all the time. Engine lift is probably 10 years old and never had any problems. Portable hydraulic ram set has a leaking seal but it has also seen a lot of use.

I got the 20 ton hydraulic press from them. When it is braced properly it works very well. Their bearing plates suck major ass though, the bolts are too weak to handle pressure. I used old head bolts to make them workable.

I also bought a tow hitch from them for my trailer, it's nice and strong but the real test will be the road test with 1000lbs loaded.

Also got the cab lights (the 5 yellow ones that are often on bigger work trucks) but yet to install em. 6.95 closeout I figured why not.

Also once got a knotted wire wheel, it fell apart very quick, won't get those again. Same thing with the cutoff wheels, but the grinding wheels (for angle grinders) seem to hold up well. I'll go the extra 10 miles to the welding store and get pearl wheels in bulk over HFT wheels.

Let's see what else. Diesel compression tester, first one I got failed after the FIRST CYLINDER and had to be returned. The second one held the pressure but won't release it without loosening the 11mm nut. Works alright so I kept it.

Own a MAC 1/2" torque wrench and gas engine compression gauge, won't consider buying cheaper variants. Matco sockets and wrenches, a few select size Snap-On sockets and wrenches (really ARE the best.) Would never consider HFT for these except a throw-away emergency kit for car.

Friend has a HFT Chicago Electric 90a flux welder. It works alright, but nothing fancy.

we dont have any harbor freight in canada here (possibly in Vancouver?), but we have a similar chain franchise called Princess Auto... same deal, stuff is not meant for everyday use... but a lot of good stuff. i bought a small 120V MIG welder years back and it's great for hobby and small projects, i'm skeptical on using it for frame work on the truck though...

I worked for a property that had one of those...
I put a case fan in it and that increased its duty cycle for welding larger projects.

i bought one of them torqued all my mains turned it down to 10 ft pounds and broke the bolt, so i changed it to loosen up the same bolts i just tightened down at 80 and i left the wrench set at 10 and it took the 80 pound bolts out.lol time to return i think

the cut off wheels i buy there are better than the one dewalt wheel i bought there. and i got 10 for the price of the one dewalt wheel.lol i mean i like it because like was said befor. you break it take it back and get another. with snap on you have to catch the trucks and i wouldnt see why you wouldnt buy the simple hand tools there? i mean i use the FREE screw drivers for everything.lol have yet to break them. and if you loose one who cares.lol get another set for free next mag you buy. lol
