So..i got a new motor motor coming for my blue 86 b2000. Im going to be putting it in on a sunday at the shop. So basically i wanna make sure i have all my ducks in a row. Ive made a list of all the stuff i think i will need and i dont want to have to order and parts after i start this swap. I just want to make sure i have everything. This is what i got on my list so far.

1. Motor(duh)
2.Clutch Kit
3. Input and Output shaft Seals for the tranny
4. Thermostat
5. Block heater
6. New upper and lower rad hoses...(new aluminum radiator maybe?)

New motor will come with valve cover, oil pan, intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, distributor seal, all that good stuff. Anyone see something i might be missing?

New oil and water pump? Plugs and wires? Engine break-in oil? Sorry, I know these are obvious but I didn't see them on your list. It's a great feeling having a new engine, are you doing anything special to it?

nothing special...just a daily so i dont need anything fancy. Already did the weber conversion. I would like to do the header for a cleaner look i guess but im not too worried about it.

Come on, you gotta do the header to match that sexy of a motor. They aren't too expensive

I guess that is a good price, if it is a true turn key engine and comes with a good warranty. I hope it works well for you, and I am glad that you are having a great time with your rebuild. Keep us posted, and I have been seeing you post on the M.T site also.

Good luck!!
