only recorded once. Got 15mpg. 138 miles going 68mph. all highway.

carb'd 302 5speed manual. 650cfm holly. '79 stock mustang heads, bored 40 over with .48 lift cam, no exhaust. speedo is too far off to keep track all the time.

had a full bed full of stuff. had a complete 302 engine and a 8.8 from a fox body mustang.

It's a progressive carb not performance carb.

On my truck I didn't get any better mileage with a weber over the OEM setup.

These trucks are backwards, I went from a 2.2L to a 1.3L and lost mileage, you went from a 2.2L to a 5.7L and gained mileage lol.

Stock tires, gutted stock exhaust, Weber 38, mostly city driving, ac on, about 19-21 mpg

So just "better than stock"?
So i wont have vtec by putting a weber on my b

With a progressive carb, it won't be VTEC, but there is a boost similar to VTEC when the secondary opens up. You set the primary (32) for cruise and idle speeds, and set the secondary (36) for performance speeds. All of this relative for a B series lol.

FWIW, this is why people who turbo carbs prefer the progressive over the synchronous carb, easier to tune for a turbo app.

Well ya it was kinda a joke but really i have felt that secondary open up and it kinda mimics vtec like you said lol. Sorry for the thread jack... Back to gas milage

My 86 B2000 is basically stock and averages 22. My last tank was 24.6 and my all time best is 27.2 so far. But I screw with this thing all the time, I've ran 2 different carbs with 3 more in line for testing and 2 different ignition systems. The metrics are all over the place and it really shows on the graph.

I'm getting ready to get back into carb swapping again soon and I'm hoping to break into the 30's

If interested, here's a link to my Fuelly with a breakdown of all the fuel-ups:

Ha ha, wow, since it has gone way below freezing (-10C to -20C highs), the 13B likes its fuel, all city driving to and from work and pulling a 2500lb trailer 10KM, I have gone 100KM (65 miles) and reading just a hair under half a tank remaining. I am also pretty sure I have a sticking fuel injector, so that does not help, cold starts and extended warm-up times don't help.
