thanks everyone. this is definitely an oppurtunity of a lifetime. i remember when i was at nationals a few years back and strugglin tryin to keep up with the big teams with them just outpowerin me down the straightaways. i just couldnt keep up with them. itll be nice bein on the other side of the pits racin with the big teams.
i remember talkin to this one kids dad that had a lot of national championships and he said their budget for a season was 1.2 mil. yes, that is really overkill and a lot of fast guys out there dont spend near that much but it just shows that karting can be just as much of a money sport than other forms of racing.
i just hope this is even anything close to as big as an opportunity as i got 4 years ago. i ran for Redbull at Infineon Raceway for their formula 1 driver search. the top 6 moved up to the next stage in Sebring. i was running in the final heat in 4th place right on the bumper of the front 3. i got spun out, fell to 12th, caught back up to 7th. the guy that won that driver search was Scott Speed and was the first american driver since Mario Andretti to run formula 1. the #22 kart is me in the pic.
