thanks guys. i got a little update on this since the season is nearing in a couple weeks. the last kart fell through and got hooked up with another company that sells Topkarts. we got the kart together this weekend and took it out for a couple practice sessions. in my second session in the kart, i was running 3 tenths off the track record in it. the kart wasnt handling that great but we didnt mess with any adjustments yet so theres a lot more speed out of it. i was also on old tires which new tires are good for abou a half second. im lookin forward to the first race after seeing how fast the kart was right out of the box. heres the kart. i dont have the graphics on it yet.

best of luck, that cart is sweet. the nice thing about go-carts and other small engine things like dirtbikes is that they use high end technology since they are so small and (relatively) inexpensive. you could just pour over the topcart photo looking for all the trick little details. great ride.

yeah its also crazy in all the adjustments that you can make to these too. everything from the flex of the chassis to fine tuning caster, camber, ackerman, etc. it even has a floating self aligning sprocket hub that you can see by the five pins that seperate it. even the electronics are crazy on these things. the gauge that will eventually be goin on it has inputs for pedal and steering response. that combined with the accelerometer in it will actually map out the track and show you your line on a computer. he even talked about ordering a couple onboard cameras to be able to use that data against it and be able to watch the competitors driving styles. it may be reletively cheap to start out but these things get expensive quick. there is probably $5000 into this kart already and probably another 3-4k to race the season.

i figured id update this since i had the first race of the season on sunday. i qualified 2nd by .009 seconds from pole which was also the new track record. the heat race was inverted from qualifying and i finished 3rd. i started 2nd in the main and got a great start and led from the first turn all the way to a 7 second lead at the finish. i also started a website to help promote my current sponsers and some companies sponserships that are pending along with something fun for me to do in my freetime. i also posted up an onboard video of the heat race. hope you guys like
