I'm here too, I gave up waiting on mazdatrucking.com to come back to life, and I miss chatting to you lot of crazies.......all my bookmarks to the different projects I was going to do are all useless right now, unless the old site is revived. At least I got a lot of them done recently, so I am about caught up.
Last weekend it was warm enough in this part of TN to work outside on my B2200, and so I swapped out the tranny and transaxle fluid, lord knows when they were last done as the fluid came out looking like Guinness, and stank to the skies! I put in Advance Auto synthetic 75W/90 (hey, it's my 20 year old weekend driver, and I am on a budget) and so far, so good. Hard to reach the fill hole on the tranny - I ended up with a funnel and lots of tubing in the engine compartment, running down to the fill hole, and that got it. From underneath, it's about impossible.
I also got the clutch master cylinder done, as I had switched the slave and both the flexible lines out before Christmas, but it was still sticking the pedal down when it got hot. The slave is definitely the harder one of the two to swap. A huge improvement - now it springs back and is a lot easier on the leg. Yes, I did get flare wrenches, and they made the job a lot easier. I already have a MityVac from working on motorbikes, and that meant I could do a one man bleed with no issues, in about 5 minutes.
So, that's the latest from me....still got that VC gasket to do, but I have cleaned up the oil leaks on the head and it looks a lot better. More degreasing to be done there. I got the steering gear box opened up and topped up with 75W/90 too, trying to make the steering less heavy. A new set of Bosch plug wires is next to go on, thanks to a $12 deal on Ebay.....maybe I can leave the truck alone after that, and get back to my bikes.
