i've had my hands in a few things over the last week. i started one thing last week, and had it done enough that i could use it, but finished it completely tonight, the others i did today.

starting with what i started last week, and finished today:

i made a hard cargo cover for my xb, i got it cut, painted, and mounted in the back last week, got it wrapped in dark gray felt (speaker box material) tonight.

prototype stage

completed

i do still need to swap out my poles, as one is just pvc tubing, another closet tube would work fine, but i have other ideas

the other things i did today was complete my in dash 8.2in android tablet install along with putting the pioneer deck from the flatbed, recessed behind the tablet, in to replace the stock double din head unit. i also replaced the upper dash speakers with a pair of 4" pioneer 150 watt peak, 40 rms 3 way speakers. i did have to drill a smallish hole in the left of the radio bezel so i could use the remote for the aftermarket deck for volume control/source change. i dont really care about not being able to use cd's, but the radio bezel is easy enough to remove that i can pull the tablet out if need be, or if i actually wanted to use a cd. cant do it while driving, but its a quick task if it needs to be done.

i'll deal with these gaps later, i had to cut the edges, then heat with a pencil torch and bend the lower lip so i could get access to the menu bar at the bottom of the screen.

radio mounted followed by a shot of the radio behind the bezel

I found some nice wheels on Kijiji a few days ago, so I got them and installed them, polished aluminum, need a good polish though. Tires are a little on the small side, 185/60R15 bald winters on the front, 196/60R15 on the back with little tread, but I picked up a set of 195/65R15 for cheap to get my by for now, just got to mount them.

lets see today and tomorrow have to go see my employer about some crap a customer is trying to pull, go grocery shopping, take some scrap metal in for cash, recycling for cash, see if my pay check is ready. clean the house, rearrange the fish tank, take a buddy some of my fish in trade for others, browse craigslist. call on some bag parts, call on 73-87 6 lug rotors from classic industries. sleep and then back to work. also call about two different b's for sale.

Finished GTO suspension rebuild, topped off rear diff after leak repair and drove her all over... then parked her and pulled the interior for a refresh. Floors are in amazing shape!

Hit 143K mark on the B2.2, making preparations to park her in late October. Still gathering parts to convert to OEM EFI.

Stripping a 2.6i parts truck...

Well, have to return to work Wednesday, after almost 2 weeks vacation, longest I've been away in one stretch since I started there in 1975. Returned from California (in 2004 Frontier), went to comedy club, Beatles/Stones tribute concert (free on beach), went sailing, went on 20 mile beach bike ride. Also fixed broken sprinkler system, cleaned out propane grill that wasn't getting hot enough, fixed coffee maker that had leak, in process of fixing drywall "malfunction" in ceiling, fixed Frontier alternator mount, filed down lawn tractor jack sharp ends so wouldn't bonk my bone dome on them, mowed 1.6 acres and cleaned mower, cut some low tree branches, serviced Mrs. Cusser, watched baseball, installed outside floodlight in parallel with useless outside light so she can switch on and see the horse when here (two 150 watt floodlight bulbs in $12 Home Depot fixture, wire was $25). Will find out soon/today if I need to replace the above-ground pool filter or if I can live with tiny leak....

Best challenge was figuring out noise/lack of mounting bolt on the Frontier alternator, had been really bugging me.
