i fried something good

well i got the alt. off today and will be testing it tomorrow, but i couldnt start it up today because i also blew the "MAIN" fuse in the panel under the hood..........so hopefully its just the alt. and some fuses,

that alt. is like a year and a half old, at the most

if you got it at Discount or another similar parts store it was more than likely a rebuilt alternator.. and is still under warenty.. most are under warenty for 3 years.

if the main fuse blew then there might be a short some where in the wiring, i had the same problem, but it was so many years ago, it was wiring by the taillight but somthing else did it too, check your main ignition wiring in the steering colum, those fuses arent cheap either, i might have a spare from another truck, i know i used one cuz my dumbass mechanic used a jumper wire insted of a fuse, cuz they kept blowing, its fine with a fuse in it now

might sound wierd but this happen to an s10 at the shop an it was the ignition it was doing the same you say yours is

thanks for the help guys, and mike you happen to have an alt? if not no prob. i can get one, but the mazda is off the road for the winter so ill be ripping it apart while i drive the 4runner, but are you still up for my balljoint task? i have a heated garage so we'll be warm. let me know

i have an altenator but not working, and im game for some ball joint action any time!

well got the alt tested and shes done, so ill get a new one soon and throw it in, but for now it'll sit in the garage and ill do the suspension work, so mike ill be calling you soon, and my garage has heat so we wont die in there

ok so heres the list of things we've done to the mazda in hipe of it starting, but it just turns over
i wanna smash it

THE NEW PARTS LIST:
-alternator
-ignition coil
-spare distributor
-many fuses (blew them when truck died)
-headlights (also blew out when truck died)


did some other stuff too i cant think of right now, but as it looks right now is that we have fuel but there is no spark being generated,
any ideas on why theres no spark? and no starting?

I would'nt think the ECU was damaged during troubles, but It's possible I guess. troubleshooting is so difficult without looking at. I have a manual and can give a more educated opion in a couple days. I'll check it out.
