bigroy_80,

that wire should be for your electric choke, it runs off the back side of the alternator. you should be able to loose all of the vacume lines except for the one running from the dizzy, it will hook up on the vac advance port on the carb.

Robbie,
either a holley 5200 like bigroy_80 has, or a weber 32/36, or 38 come with electric chokes, you can also get them with manual or water chokes.... i know the webers will either be dges or dgev, the e standing for electric choke. i got my weber 38 from , good peeps to deal with!

alll you need is the vac advance, fuel line, throttle cable! Then your good to go!

hmmm that looks like it has a water choke on it too. Thats weird maybe they have one that is an electric/water choke. Because thats the only thing that wire could be.

what year and what car is best to get the holley 5200 off of though? I have an electric choke on mine and want to keep it that way.

i believe that they came on mid 70's for mustang II's, and ford pintos, you could prob find one of those on the cheap, but would prob need rebuilding before you installed it on the mazda....check summit racing, they aren't too bad on there, and they have free shipping plus it would be brand new and you wouldn't have to worry about rebuilding it either. all you would lack then is an air filter, and an adapter for the carb, i think blare or mark was going to start making some adapters, might want to hit them up about one....as for the filter i have the one that came in my kit that i'm not going to use...

Earlier someone had mentioned the wire to the choke coming off the back side of the alternator, well thats what this is and it was attatched to the old carb, do i just wire this into the ford plug coming off the new carb?

and as for the new carb, follow the finger, which hoses go where? It really sucks not having instructions for this, or really a great understanding of carbs...
