not sure about all of it, but i know there is no use for the thing in the first pic once the stock carb is gone.

ok cool, just wondering but what are the hoses running off of it back to the rear of the truck for?

I don't have a 5200 yet but here's the page from MAzdatrucking.com that covers some of the info on the 5200 carbs.

No instructions for install, but you'll better understand your carb. Like the things your 2 fingers are pointing out are the water assisted choke hose connections. Only way I understand to use these is to tap into your rad hose and run a hose to one of these connections and back from the other back into the rad hose. Better option, find/buy and electric choke for the 5200 from Auto Zone or something

Hey, once you get all this figured out with all the pictures you've taken, how bout posting your own version of instructions letting us other future newbs see which things we too can remove Then they could use it for the "Tech" area of the site.

pretty much all of those parts can go. you can chose to keep the canister if you want.

do this. mark and unplug all of the vacuum lines coming off of the intake manifold. plug them all (advance or autozone sells vacuum plugs). then from there install the carb and the needed lines: fuel, vacuum advance, brake booster, choke lines, pcv valve, dunno if im forgettin somethin.

in the pic where you have your fingers pointing to on 2 large pipes, that mechanism is the choke. the fuel intake is actually on the other side.

^^ the pipe your index finger is pointing to, that is the fuel intake. and that other pipe, i did not use.

^^ that is the vacuum advance line

and just a tip, flip that carb 180 degrees so your throttle linkages are in the back side and the fuel intake is in the front.

pretty much what ever vacuum ports you do not use, you plug it.

also, according to your pics i can't find the PCV valve port, maybe it's on the other side or its staring me right at my face, but i dont see it. it is typically on the bottom half of the carb

your carb is different from mine, but by looking at mine, my guess it'd be this port on yours:

on holley's, the vacuum ports on the "upper side" of the carb are typically regulated. meaning use it for vacuum advance. they will have hardly any vacuum pull at idle or WOT, but will pull vacuum at cruising speed. the lower ports on ther other hand are manifold vacuum. pretty much whatever the manifold is pulling, these ports will pull the same.

i will try to get a more pics of my carb from diff. angles. but this is a shot of mine showing the carb flipped 180degrees

also if you noticed, i have a steel cable running to the carb. that is my manual choke line. my carb came with a water choke. i did not want to use it so i ran a cable to the choke linkage and i just pull it when i need to use the choke.

do any of the holley 5200 come with an electric choke?
mark   +1y
yes, some models came with electric chokes. which models, i dont know

if you choose to use the water choke, you could tap into the coolant line that runs under the intake, it is a smaller line, cut one of the rubber hoses and put in a tee fitting and run that to one of the choke nipples, then cut another of the rubber hoses and put in another tee and run it to the other choke nipple. as far as the nipples that mark said are your fuel inlets, on is prob a return line, and on the inlet...just a guess tho. check on holley's web site, they may have a pdf file on intallation of a 5200 series carb.

good luck!

Ok, well I've got the carb in and the truck turns on and runs....and nothing bad happened yet, my engine didn't blow up or die or say F you.

Anyways, how do you adjust the throttle and these carbs? Right now with no tension on the cable it runs the engine up to 3k and just sits there. So where on the carb itself would you adjust that. For reference I have NOT plugged the rest of the vaccum lines yet as I just wanted to see if it would start up so I was wondering would that cause hte idle to go as high as it does or would that effect how high the idle is running.

Thanks again peoples

it will affect the idle with the vacuum ports un plugged...mostlikely cause the motor to run rough

i actually had that problem on mine where it will sit above 1500 because the throttle linkage was not going all the way back, the throttle cable spring doesn't have enough tension so i ran a spring from the carb linkage onto something to give it some more tension.

but the idle screw should be on the same side the choke mechanism is on, it's almost hard to see
