alright guys tell me what your think about this. ITs been smoking like crazy when i start it and then the last couple days its gotten worse.I pulled the valve cover off today and it was a light brownish color kinda milky.. My dad said without lookin it sounds like either a warped head or blown headgasket.. Would it be best for me to just get another head for it or have this one machined if it can be??? any help is appreciated, The only thing that sucks is that its my only ride and I dont get paid for another few days... So if anyone has a good head in the Ft.Worth area and wants to get rid of it CHEAP let me know.. By the way its an 89 B2200 carbed... thanks in advance..

if the headgasket blew. most likely the head warped anyway, you can try to get yours pressure tested to make sure it didnt marp or crack but that will cost you, then if it is bad that money is lost and you have to shell out more for another head anyway, if you can get one for a good price thats probably your best bet, just make sure that when you take the head off and are ready to reinstall it, GET NEW HEAD BOLTS, i got a head rebuilt, had it reinstalled and didnt have the bolts replaced and less than a month later it warped again,

scroll down a little bit and you will find your truck, brand new bolts shipepd for under $50 i can almost guarantee you wont find them cheaper than that, i was running those bolts in my old motor for over a year and never had a problem

good luck

heres the cheapest i found on ebay

i also have a cylinder head that came out of a 91 b2200 you can have it for free just pay shipping, shipping would be about $50 since its so heavy

message me if you are interested

its a bare head, no rockers, arms etc

with the oil being milky colored, you've got coolant getting in the oil. you've either got a blown head gasket, or a cracked head. has the temp guage spiked real high or has it been running hot, if so the head may have warped......pull the head & carry it to a machine shop & let them check it to see if its warped or cracked, if not a new head gasket & bolts ought to fix you up.

good luck!

well we pulled it off but dont know for sure but there is a possiblitly that the intake manifold gasket was bad.. I dont know if that would cause all this probs or not but Im hoping im The head is ok but I dont know... here are a few pics of what we found when we pulled it apart.. enjoy and my 5 yr old son wanted to be like his dad and try to take the head off too.. lol

I was looking at it a few min. ago and was thinkin bout something.. correct me if I am wrong but the intake manifold has water or antifreeze runnin through it right?? well I noticed that the intake manifold gasket was blown on the back and thats where the water and or antifreeze was on the top of the pistons, not the front two... So If I replaced that and drained it all and refilled everything since I am due for an oil change anyway.. refill everything and see what happens... If it runs ok just run it until I have probs again and then replace the head if needed... It would save me MONEY for sure.. what do you guys think?? Cause I have to get this back on the road ASAP its my only ride... thanks in advance

i'm having the same problem... mine is blown only i hope... its got a relatively new head, injectors, fuel rail, everything is powdercoated.... i bought it from a hawaiian guy, he said it blew the head gasket. he had it half way apart so i didn't get to start it to see how it runs or wahtever, that sucks... but the oil is kinda milky, not really that bad though... kinda shocked me...i mean, i pulled the dipstick, it was DARK oil. i looked under the oil filler cap, its got like a LITTLE bit of milky shit... idk kinda sucks... at least you knew how it ran, i didn't...

btw, mine is a 92 b2600i if anyone can help me...
