i'm just gonna take my truck to the shop, throw about $500 at 'em, and let them work on it. i'm letting a shop do it so if it F's up again, they can fix it again or replace the head. i'm thinkin about finding a b2600i head in a salvaged truck and having it ported polished and beefed up... throw it back in... but for now, the shop will do the work on my stock head. i am wanting to run a compression test on sunday to find out if it is the gasket or whatever... i'll keep ya'll updated...

devious...when are you planning on working on it? i may have to go to houston with the wife this weekend but if not i will see if she will let me come out and play. haha. i have a lot of experience with the head. if i don't get to come up make sure that the gasket is put on the right way. it can be put on either way, so make sure it is right. make sure to get your timing right on. these engines are interference engines which means the valves can hit the pistons if the timing is off. also, make sure you torque the head in the correct pattern, oh and if you don't have new head bolts you might want to go ahead and get those as well. a chiltons comes in real handy for everything you need to know. hopefully i will be able to come help you out but i will have to see. if you need any help give me a call. i think you have my number. later.
