I got it in the mail today! Woot! Took 2 days to ship! I was excited to see it so early! But I won't be able to get it in till Saturday, maybe...

So I start opening the package like a christmas present from santa, and I read the paper. Now this is what is striking:

1. It displayed that the carb was for a b2000. but it said b2-b2200. Do I need to worry about fitment?
2. It is a 32/36 DGES I believe. It says it is made for off-roading and not to be used on highway. WHAT?! Someone, please, tell me I'm going to be okay? Because I don't intend to do any off-roading...
3. They talk about connecting vacuum lines, etc. Now, what in the world? I thought this carb allowed you to get rid of all the vacuums and emissions?
4. And then, my own personal inquiry, will I be able to get rid of my ECU after install?
5. Last but certainly not least! What should I improvements should I expect to see for a $320 piece of metal? lol. HP gain, mpg efficiency? Etc...

I know most of this has been posted before, but I need it to be specific to my needs! Anyone up for helping me troubleshoot anything if I happen to run into problems? Eh, well of course you will be!

2. it says meant for offroad use because it isn't a legal mod in SOME states to replace the stock smog/computer controlled electric carb. no worries, unless you have visual smog inspection in which just having thar carb on there and them seeing it will automatically fail you.

3.there is only one vacuum line that hooks up to the carb, and that is one that goes from I think the distributor to the carb.

5. you should gain 1-2 mpg

cool man, you will love it. i believe the only vacuum line you have to worry about is for the advance on the distributor. everything else get plugged off and tossed. it only says for offroad only because of the fact you are getting rid of all the emissions. i think you still need the ecu because i think the wipers work through the harnesses. but disconnect it and make sure everything works first before getting rid of it. i really don't know what kind of improvements you will see because i never drove a stock mazda before. as soon as i got mine i bored it .020 over, put the weber on it, big exhaust, etc. etc. but it is extremely easy to work on and install. one tip i will give is to use lock tight on the mounting hardware. mine kept coming loose until i put some high temp lock tight on the hardware. later.

Okay! Thats a relief to know. Thought I might have been in trouble! So that means there is only one vacuum line on the carb then? I was hoping for a bigger mpg gain than that... Anything else for mileage gains?

On the instructions with mine it says to use loctite in each step almost. I was going to skip that. But now that you told me about your exp. I think I will loctite it!

Well, I bet it will drive alot better compared to my stock. My stock basically needs a rebuild. So I bought a weber instead.

And, also, do you guys know where to get the ceramic pacesetter headers?
zakkwylde   +1y
i know a place out by me that can coat your header not sure of the number or addy but i can getr it for you if you want.
hex0rz   +1y
Hehe, cool, but I'm more interested in the price!

Quickest I found is this:

E-bay does'nt have any ceramic coated headers...

Anyone know of any cheaper places?

cheaper...how does $67.24 cheaper sound?

so since i saved you 67.24 ill collect 1/2 of that which is 33.62 and you cn send it pay pal, check or money order to me. pm me for my address.
its a pleasure doing business with you. -bf

Bwahaha! You funny guy... Thanks for the help though!

Oh, what about summit? I'll have to check...

BTW, it says its for a Rx-7. Same style of headers?

Well, today, it is snowing like hell right now. Right before I was going to work on the truck! Its colder than hell outside also. And then my dad was concerned about the bolts breaking because of the cold. Aye...

I decided I might as well post up on this thread because thats what it relates to. I just remembered, what 'am I suppose to do about the breather element? Cause on the stock, it goes to the cleaner assembly.

And, also, do I have to use the vapor canister or EGR? They have the ports for it. I also do not remember seeing an electric choke for my carb. I always had to set it manually.

And also, my dad is having a fit about the emissions hoses from the headers to the cleaner assembly. Cause he thinks I will fail emissions. I told him it all goes, and that the carb is supposed to control the emission.

Right?

the breather hose goes away, just get a filter that goes over the tube on the valve cover, the egr valve stays but the canister goes away, all the exhaust hoses go away, and i just cut the wire off of the sensor on the exhaust manifold and left the sensor installed as a plug. your stock carb had a manual choke? if that is the case and now you have an electric choke, i think that the wire connects to the tempo sending unit but don't quote me on that. as for emissions, i really don't know if it will pass or fail, i don't have emissions testing where i live, but i know that you can buy a bottle of something at the auto parts store that guarantees (spelling) you to pass emissions. i saw it when i worked at o'reilly's but i don't remember what it was.
