FIXED IT... 10 Minutes before i sold it...
I had changed my inline fuel filter, beat on my fuel pump with a wrench cussed at it...
we cleaned and readjusted the points and turned the distributor...
we had the gas cap off blew air into the tank while the engine was running...
i got pissed and left it alone...
went out today, the day i sold it, and i remembered my gf and dad both said to check the secondary fuel filter...
i checked it and the secondary fuel filter INSIDE the carburetor, where the fuel line comes in, was plugged shut...
DAMMIT!! I could have kept it and drove it...
after that i took it out drove it, at every RPM it performed fine...
so anyone else needing this info...
IF THE TRUCK SPUTTERS, WHEN UNDER ACCELERATION, BUT IDLES FINE...
1.CHECK THE INLINE FUEL FILTER
2.PULL THE LINE FROM TANK OFF THE CARB WITH KEY ON TO SEE IF YOU HAVE PRESSURE (means fuel pump is fine)
3.CHECK VACUUM LINES
4.CHECK SECONDARY FUEL FILTER, WHERE FUEL LINE COMES IN...
