Ok, fukkin frustrated. This is retarded.

Last night, and today..I go to start my truck and give it a bit of gas to warm it up. It stalls. Start it again, Stalls. I try to give it a rev and it bogs and dies. This truck hasn't given me a mechanical problem in the almost 50,000km i drove it, and I just got back from a 3500km trip, no problems.

I figured it was the plugs, I changed them and nothing. I now have NGK-r's, and MSD wires. Still has the same problem.

I find once its warmed up its not AS bad, but theres a certain rpm it just bucks like crazy. not sure how many rpm...but in 2nd gear its at about 20kmh....i assume around 1500rpm or a lil higher maybe? But yeah it bucks, and once you get past a certain rpm it stops. Its like this through every gear. If your just cruising along the highway everything is fine.

Anyone have any ideas? Maybe its time for a Weber?...Im gonna run some seafoam and see what happens. I fukkin hate this...Trucks never given me problems like this ever...now it has to do it today...On my BIRTHDAY to boot. haha greaat

is your truck carb'd? mine is and had the same problem and it stopped kind of on it's own. i think it's the accelerator pump on the front left corner of the carb - i think it was getting sticky or something and causing this problem. i just got under the hood and worked it a bunch with the engine running and it seems to have worked itself out...?

k.i.s.s.....check fuel pressure, look in distributor cap for oil , change cap n rotor.... fuel filter..these items are all suspects...check manifold vacumn also..you said u put new wires on it right?

Well i just seafoamed it, half bottle in the gas..half in the carb. There was really no difference with that though. I drove for a bit..and i figured out its when your doing normal driving that it does this shit. If i hammer down, it doesn't sputter or anything?...what the fukk. anyone have more ideas pertaining to what i just said? its pouring rain now so im just gonna get some ideas together before i work on it. And yes, there are new wires in.

And yeah its carbd speedster. thanks guys n galss

Where can i get a weber? Bout ready to buy one, if theres no oil in my dizzy and everything else seems ok. How much can i expect to pay?..Which would be the best for my application?

that sux dude, could be like speedy said, the accelerator pump on the carb, but then again, it could be a vaccum leak....also like southernrazed said, check the fuel filter, you've changed the plugs, did you notice anything unusual about the old ones? what color they were....are you running the same tank of gas that you got while on your road trip, could just be a bad tank of gas.....try spraying down the carb with carb cleaner, & work the linkage, it might free up w/e is stuck....the only other thing i might think of is if your still running the pre-cat right off of the manifold, it could have decided to shiY the bed, if the engine doesn't breath right, it won't run right.

fyi on the weber, has good prices and info on webers, and which one to choose, if you don't or aren't planning on major mods to the engine i'd stick with the 32/36 as it is a proven winner if you will, whereas the new 34 carbs i have heard of issues with the linkage, and throttle cable....now if your gonna tweak out the engine, the 38 would be your bet, unless you wanted to buy some dcoe sidedrafts from racetep, and a custom manifold from me and have something that looks like the pics in this thread

32/36 should be here in a week. i dont fukk around. haha

My truck has been known to do the same thing. My pre cat has crapped out and it choked the motor out. I would take the air cleaner top off, and the motor would run sweet, but soon as I put the cap back on, it would die. I ended up having to change my air filter constantly. And this is why I'm buying the pacesetter to go with my weber that's in my garage

yes I'd check your converters out-

GOOD CALL!!!! i forgot about that!
your new shiny weber might not help anything if your exhaust is plugged up.
its easy to check and its free too...
