I just re-read this thread,and as I posted in my EGR issues thread,my truck is having the EXACT same symptons.
I start it when cold,and it will not idle. Have to try to start it like 3 times before holding it at 1500-2000rpm will keep it running. If you put your foot down while idling it,you feel a big hesitation and it almost stalls,but then it sputters and over 2000rpm it's fine.
Get on the road,and it hesitates on take off and when going slow,but hammering on it,cruising on the highway and everything,it's fine.
I've found the truck runs a smidge better with the EGR vacuum line capped off,but it's not much of a difference. I put another EGR on and it didn't do anything,so I'm thinking I'm going to go the Weber route as well. Unfortunately,the timing for this couldn't be any worse.
