Maz is right... Might as well replace the strainer while you have the tank out. Doesnt hurt.

A blob of water in the tank wouldnt cause the fuel filter to be bone dry. It would go right thru.
Also that drain plug is pretty small. Its about the side of the oil drain plug if not a little smaller. I think it would still be better to pull the tank that way you can look inside of it to see what the condition is. I would think it might have rusted on the inside and that it what is stopping up his pick up tube. It would have to be something like that or someone put something in the tank as a joke or whatever.

thanks guys i have a vent line that is clogged i thought it was vapor locking but it died again today so im pulling the tank this weekend

isn't vapor lock when the gas gets so hot in the lines that it turns to vapor instead of liquid?

well mine wasnt venting and the draw from the fuel pump was colapsing the flow side fuel .line...............but your right on the vapor lock...he man i just checked out your truck on cardomain...pretty cool

yup saturday im dropping the tank and pulling all the hard lines and cleaning them and all new rubber house on all lines.......i only wanna do it once

ok i dropped thew tank and found the strainer had come off and there was a lil cardboard cap from some fuel additive some one had put in....sitting on the bootom of the tank...........alls well now
